Product Description

Product Description

The Antec KUHLER H2O 650 delivers high-performance liquid cooling for your CPU in a quick, easy-to-install package. Unlike traditional liquid cooling systems, this self-contained unit comes prefilled and requires no maintenance. The extra large pump circulates coolant through optimized water channels, while easy-bend flexible tubing allows the KUHLER H2O 650 to be installed in nearly any orientation. In addition to easy installation, a powerful PWM fan pushes air through directional blades and channels it through the radiator for optimal cooling. Included in the box is an air duct that reduces static pressure which in turn, allows air to flow out of the case efficiently. Lastly, integrated firmware automatically adjusts fan speed and changes the RGB LED based on temperature. Engineered for maximum performance, the Antec KUHLER H2O 650 delivers liquid cooling performance at an air cooling price.

Works great with my FX-6300 which I over clocked to 4.8Ghz and the temperatures are 50C on full load and 36C on idle.
It's quiet up until about 47C then the fan ramps up but I don't care as I didn't buy this to reduce noise, I purchased this to reduce temperatures and give me the ability to over clock my CPU

It works nice enough, but like others mentioned IT GETS LOUD.
I wanted to add to my review since I have been able to get the noise on this cooler to a much more manageable level.

I recently decided to try and figure out how to stop it. So I went into my BIOS and turned off all motherboard fan control settings for the CPU. Effectively putting the unit on 100% fan speed all the time. It has DRASTICALLY reduced the noise problem.

I read somewhere that if your unit is not getting 100% full power off you fan header, the pump moving the liquid is not functioning at 100% so the cooler fan will kick up trying to compensate

As far as I can tell the fan speeds are controlled by its own thermal sensor and not from your motherboards bios.

Worked fine for 10 months as direct replacement for stock cooler on Intel 3570K at stock speeds but has since started to idle at 50+C, ambient temp around 20C, with erratic jumps to 60-70+C for no reason. Noisy as fan runs around 2300rpm. Running Prime95 to show how badly the cooler is currently performing, temps jump to 97C within 60 seconds and very noisy.
Mixed response from Antec after getting in touch for support, it has a 3 year warranty after all. Customer support was fine, directing me to their RMA department. Their Dutch based RMA department is a different story. Condescending attitude of the handler in asserting the issue was of my own making, by drying out the thermal paste in overclocking and frying my processor. Wrong in believing Prime95 is an overclocking tool, and wrong conclusion that use of Prime95 must equal overclocking.
At this point, I'm ready to bin the cooler nevermind the 2+ years of warranty it still supposedly has, and get a replacement from another manufacturer.

Replaced my previous antec kuhler with this one when the pump failed after three years of reliable use and it's a big improvement.
Better designed, quieter and lower temperatures.
My sandybridge i5 now runs at 5ghz and tops out at around 63 degrees.

I purchased this to cool my system hoping for a small hum of a fan sitting around four feet away from my keyboard and monitor...But...No...This device has bigger things in mind...The noise is dreadful, I have purchased additional silent super fans to extract and also to positive feed but the bu**er just goes on loudly...I have a NZXT Sentry LX (Which is not compatible to control the fan (please advise if you know more than me...thanks) so it`s connected to the motherboard and controlled by the bios. (Altering the bios is not recommended for the faint hearted) So altering and slowing fan and monitoring temperature...STILL REALLY LOUD.

Sorry Antec, contacted you several times but no response!

Please be aware.

dont waste your money, i purchased this to replace my enermax vegas air cooler, the cpu temps all went up 15 degrees after instalation i then ran prime 95 for 10 mins with poor results i then ripped it out and put the air cooler back. by the way fitting is horrible the cpu mount screw have springs which need so much force to compress make installation a nightmare.

arrived quickly and installation was a bit tricky at first but once i figured out how the heatsink fit the rest was easy. cpu (AMD 6100 6 core bulldozer) temps are down on the baseline temps i always had with a stock heatsink and fan even under heavy load. if you've never tried water cooling then i suggest that you try this piece of kit!
