Never Mind The Sex Pistols, Here's AFI,
By A Customer
This review is from: Answer That and Stay Fashionable (Audio CD)
Don't be fooled. This album is nothing of the emo that AFI has evolved into. Most current AFI lovers will hate this album. But I must admit, this is better than the Sex Pistols. I get the feeling that might get me shot...This album has some great things about it. My personal favourtie are the occasional bass solos at the beginning of the song, bringing out the true heart of any rock band. All the riffs are catchy, and the songs are short and fast paced. To be honest, I hated this album when I first got it and now, five years on its always at the top of my CD stack. I can't get enough of it. Like every good album, the best thing about it is that every time you hear it you find something new. I don't reccomend this to everyone, but anyone who like bands like the Sex Pistols should try this out.

Amazing,
This review is from: Answer to That and Stay [VINYL] (Vinyl)
This debut album, is different to all their newer albums (except Very Proud Of Ya!, which is kind of like it) this is one of their most punky album, and has some very catchy songs (i wanna mohawk, cereal wars, your name here, etc) it contains clips from resevoir dogs, another programe from the makers of the young ones, and one i dont know were its from.anyway probably my 2nd favourite album, but not as good as the art of drowning.

In the beggining,
This review is from: Answer That and Stay Fashionable (Audio CD)
I'm a long term AFI fan and have and enjoy all their albums.
This is AFI's earliest album and along with the follow up 'very proud of ya' is AFI at their most punk. Although a couple of tracks I wan't a mowhawk, Cereal Wars and High School Football fit the pop punk criteria. This is not a bad thing all three are enjoyable, energetic tunes and I have great memeries of moshing away in London many many moons ago. This may not be suit the pallette of Fans who have only heard the later albums but since it so cheap I wouls seriously recomend you give it a try and get a feeling of where a truly great band started a long and succssusful career. Albums only flaw is that all the songs are at a very similar frantic pace, which while generates loads of energy, means the album can sounld a little samey throughout. Fantasitic bass solo's are one of the many highlights. Cosmic
