Anstoß is a lively and inspiring German course for Key Stages 3 and 4. The course consists of three books taking students from beginner through to GCSE or Standard Grade. Anstoß 1 provides an ideal introduction to German for pupils starting the language in Year 7, 8 or 9. It is the second part of the series to be published, following Anstoß GCSE which was published in June 2001, and incorporates all of the 2000 National Curriculum changes.

The Cassette Set contains all the material needed for the listening exercises in the Pupil's Book. It is digitally recorded and uses native speakers. Dialogues, interviews and reports form the basis for a variety of tasks.
About the Author
Carole Shepherd is Chairman of Examiners at AQA and runs a Language Consultancy. Angela Heidemann is a German lecturer at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Andy Giles is Head of Modern Languages at Ryton Comprehensive School, Newcastle.
