As a photographer working on location mainly with speedlites I have a lot of batteries that need to be kept fresh. Since getting this it's a doddle. I can charge twelve AA Ansmann 2850's simultaneously. Every now and again a cell will go sour and the Ansmann quickly tells you if there is a problem. The feature I like is that it refreshes each battery before charging. Any photographer will tell you that you need to have a battery discipline. The Ansmann makes it simple. Some may think it's a pain to constantly load and unload batteries. Many I know use hundreds of Alkalines every year. I simply cycle a set of forty batteries, Over the past two years I've only had five AA Metal Hydrides go down. There is a smaller charger but if you use batteries like I do get the Ansmann 5607083 Energy 16 Battery Charger. You won't regret it. The secret with batteries is not to let them discharge fully that way they will and do last longer than you would think.

Did a great job of recovering some old rechargeable batteries of mine. Can do loads at the same time which is good when they all seem to run out at the same time. Useful indicator lights as to state of battery and charge.
There's no size in the description and I just figured, 'How big can a battery charger be?', well the answer is, about 21~22cm in diameter. It's a bit of a whopper!
It seems to work pretty well and checking the results with a battery tester plus a multimeter it would appear that each battery is charged to capacity (as one would expect). Unless you really need to charge 6 or 12 batteries together, you might be better off with the smaller 8 (oddly, it doesn't get as good reviews).

It doesn't charge totally flat batteries
Reading the reviews it seemed this was the best charger as my amp takes 6 large batteries,

Church Charging
Bought this to refresh and charge nimh batteries for radio mikes at church. It does this efficiently and in sufficient quantities to keep our four mikes always ready for action.
