The DVD is packed with Ordnance Survey mapping, used in paper format by millions of walkers and cyclists. Anquet users can plan routes, plot them on the maps and instantly calculate distance travelled, height gained and walking time. Route descriptions and profiles can also be created. Users can print maps, profiles and route descriptions to use en route and can download routes to their Garmin or Magellan GPS. This product, unlike Memory-Map, does not print the maps with grid-line numbers, making it useless if you are lost and want to check your postion using your GPS. I emailed their support desk and was told "tough luck" and "you should have checked first" and they said I could write the references on myself before printing. They don't seem to want to develop their product to meet customer requirements and do not clarify the limitations before you buy. AVOID! THERE ARE BETTER PRODUCTS.

I have been an Anquet Maps user for many years and upgraded to Version 6 of the software last year at considerable expense because the earlier version did not support the GPX format. I have a Garmin Foretrex 401 which stores tracks in GPX format and was very disappointed to find that the Anquet Version 6 software does not read them correctly. I have contacted Anquet support regularly for over six months but they have not fixed the problem, nor have they said when they will fix it. All that they will tell me is that the problem has been passed to their development team. I am very unhappy about their attitude and about a problem which spoils otherwise reasonable software. Buyers beware!

I'm a digital muppet, but anquet maps have got us from Land's End to Hadrian's Wall so far as we make our way to John O'Groats. We needed the rest of the UK having bought three sections a few years ago and worked out cost of the rest versus the sinle UK disc. No contest! It loaded quickly and we have printed linear sections for the next leg of our walk and downloaded waypoints onto Garmin eTrex Venture HC for further guidance as we're heading into unknown territory (for us) where we're frit there may be dragons! (Otherwise known as Scotland!).
