On this CD one is teased by just a few of The Shadows original massive hits from the 1960's, with the balance made up from instrumental versions of some more modern tunes. And there is a knockout selection here without a doubt to chill out and play as the easy listening they so rightly are; unless you're an air-guitarist, of course. A splendid and low-priced album no valid collection should be without, and at just under an hour of music, it can't be knocked for good value.

This is a good album due in part to the great covers included. Walk don't run in my opinion is better than the Ventures version and atleast these guys have skill and the guitars have feeling and tone.

The original String of Hits album was a newly recorded album of popular hits played by the Shads in '79, due to it's success EMI assembled a second volume (in the same style) from previous albums dating as far back as the 60's, both volumes make a great companion from a regular Shads hits compilation
