The Coen Brothers’ celebration of 1960s folk music in their film INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS inspired the concert ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER TIME. Produced by T Bone Burnett, who also produced the film’s soundtrack, and held in New York City’s Town Hall, the concert features live performances of the film's music, as well as songs from the early 1960s. Some of the greatest folk musicians (Avett Brothers, Joan Baez, Dave Rawlings Machine, Rhiannon Giddens, Lake Street Dive, Colin Meloy, The Milk Carton Kids, Marcus Mumford, Punch Brothers, Patti Smith, Willie Watson, Gillian Welch, and Jack White) and the star of INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS Oscar Isaac assembled for one unique evening Featuring interviews with the musicians and behind the scenes footage while they’re rehearsing for the concert, ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER TIME gives an insight on the role folk music plays for them.

I agree with my fellow reviewer; this would have been very nice to see as an extra alongside the wonderful 'Inside Llewyn Davis'. Nevertheless, any big fans of the aforementioned, or of the American folk scene in general, owe it to themselves to pick this up. The editing makes for an entertaining watch, with concert footage interspersed with studio and backstage jams, and interviews. All with the great T Bone Burnett and Coen brothers standing in the background imparting their wisdom. There are of course stand out tracks, which you will wish to revisit. I was also grateful that this concert film introduced me to some new artists who I had not previously come across, but now look forward to investigating further. A personal stand out for me were the Milk Carton Kids. So, an essential purchase in my opinion, if somewhat pricey. I would also recommend the blu ray version, for your optimal visuoaudial pleasure. Enjoy!

They should have put this as an Extra on the 'Inside Llewyn Davis' DVD. It features many of the songs from the film, and has some interesting backstage jams. It doesn't seem to feature the whole concert, however, and clocks in at just under 1 hour and 40 minutes, with no Extras of its own. It's somewhat poor that there is no information on the performances inside the DVD cover, but, from what I can ascertain, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings are as superb as ever ("I Hear Them All/This Land Is Your Land," with Willie Watson is the standout for me), with the Punch Brothers acting as a committed house band. Oscar Isaac shows he can 'cut' it live as well as on screen, and Rhiannon Giddens and The Avett Brothers are obviously people to watch in the future.

One star off for Marcus Mumford (he features way too much), and the off-key performances of Joan Baez and Patti Smith.

Overall, worth the money.
