Book Description

The world has changed -- and not for the better.
As the 21st century nears its midpoint, the world has become a far different place. Nearly three decades earlier, a time-travel experiment on the island of Alcatraz went terribly awry. Instead of opening a portal to the past, it opened an entrance to a parallel world. Through the portal came terrifying creatures who previously had existed only in humankind’s legends and nightmares.
Along with the monsters came a mysterious plague—for ten years no children are born anywhere on earth. Then, on the tenth anniversary of The Incident, a baby girl is born in San Diego. On each of the next six days, another child is born.
Each of the Seven develops a magical power; everyone except Leah, the first born. When Leah is seventeen, she receives an ominous message from the other world. The Seven must journey to Alcatraz and stop what is going to happen on a day which just happens to be Leah’s eighteenth birthday. Otherwise, the world as they know it will cease to exist.
But Alcatraz lies five hundred very dangerous miles away, and there are no more cars, trains or planes to get them there. Even worse, the message doesn’t tell Leah what is going to happen, or how they're supposed to stop it.
Filled with danger and bravery, magic and monsters, companionship and loss, Anomaly will keep you glued to its pages until the final, pulse-pounding sentence.

Normally I am not really keen on this kind of book, but I love Scott's Blue Fire Saga books, so thought I would give this new book of his a try. I was thoroughly surprised because I loved it. There was such an assortment of characters, each with a unique story to tell, and I just loved the ending, it's open for another book which I really hope Scott will write. I could get as involved with this series as the Blue Fire Saga books, and that's saying something!!! I definitely recommend it.

An avid fan of Scott's books I had struggled a little when he posted some of the early parts of Anomaly on his facebook page as it seemed somewhat heavy going and chewy compared to the effortless read of the supernatural Blue fire series or the light BDSM shorties of the Letting Go Series and not so easy to get into as his crime or magic stories. However, I eventually went for it and bought the book and once I got through the first chapter I really got in to it - so much so that I did a couple of night shifts in order to find out if Leah and her 6 fellow miracles did indeed save the world 'Two hundred miles does seem like a long way to walk, but we're all in the best shape of our lives. Besides, even if we decided to return home, we'd have an equally long trek. So we might as well head north and try to save the world.' Scott didn't disappoint with Anomaly - the story is fast paced and laced with an assortment of mythical creatures with whom the miracles and their helpers do battle in the effort to reach their goal. The outcome? For that dear fellow reader.... you must buy the book - and I assure you that if you do, you will not regret it - Whether or not you are already a fan of Rave and Lisa et al from Blue Fire, this book will certainly leave you breathless and loving Scott's new band of super hero's. By the end like Jennifer in 'Letting Go' you will definitely be wanting much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Prussing Classic! 7 Jun. 2014

Scott Prussing does not disappoint. Another fantastic novel from the Blue Fire Saga author! Anomaly is set in the future, in a post-apocalyptic Earth, and follows Leah's gripping adventure to save life as she knows it. There's a little bit for all sci-fi & fantasy fans, in here. My favourite is probably the LotR reference! Read it or regret it. :) xx
