This is a curiously good album by the Perth Based band Luxury Car, named after a quote in Buffalo 66. Well a good start that they are Vincent Gallo fans even though I thought Confessions of a trick baby was a mistake (A transsexual nun- what was he thinking?). I have seen them live a couple of times and they were consistently good, though I was wondering why they were hanging beside me at Cabaret Voltaire during Swimmer One's set.

The album is very 1980's electro sound like a mixture of early Depeche mode, Human League (Pre-Dare) and a few other bands to boot without the pretentious stuff like wearing make up and having stupid hair cuts such as the mullet that made certain parties a pile of Merchant Bankers.

The lyrics are well a bit odd take this "Sent down a pulsar, She chutes down the long slide" okay given that 99.9% of people never analyse the lyrics still that's vastly superior to "What frightens me most is a ghost, I'd rather have some toast".

Well to conclude the review a lush wholesome (slightly dark) effort with quite a few wonderful moments in it well worth a listen or several
