Format:Audio CD
I love the Y3K and Y4K collections and was looking forward to hearing a selection of tunes from the Queen of breakbeat. I listened with great anticipation but unfortunately it was not worth the wait. The compilation is lackluster and fails to deliver anything new or interesting. Just very basic 'nice' tunes that are completely forgettable. For someone who is continually praised for her good ear for breaks this is very disappointing.

A good mixture of more well-known and newer artists, this cd has some choices on it to please fans of Ms Nightingale's Radio 1 show and bring in new listeners.
Tracks which stand out include: K-Swing & Beber's "This was the Sound", remixed by Adam Freeland, a get up and dance anthem if ever there was one; Codex Machine's "Love Requiem", with its striking originality successfully taking the boundaries of breakbeat even further; Orange Blossom's "Cheft El Khof", which is sublime listening for a summer's evening; The Orb/Alan Parker's "Grey Clouds", comic genius meeting musical genius. Although unmixed, it is still well structured and an excellent addition to the Y4K series.

I bought this for the Alan Parker Grey Clouds tune at the end but the whole collection is very good
