Just finished this book. From the moment I started it, I could hardly put it down.(Feeling very tired now due to two very late nights!) A nice easy read and the first of Debby Holt's I've read. Just one little niggle though - the main character, Annie, had a group of friends and I couldn't always remember which of the characters were which. That didn't spoil my enjoyment though. Going to look for another Debby Holt book to buy now!.

This is a funny book which had me chuckling most of the way through reading it. It is a light chick lit style novel similar to those of Trisha Ashley.

The unusual feature of the novel is the habit of our heroine of keeping a black book detailing all the wrongs ever done to her and the quotations from the book which are distributed throughout the text. Ben Seymour features strongly as Annie's greatest transgressor and you just know that when they meet up again that a romance will blossom .... eventually, and despite Annie's intentions !

There are lots of minor characters to enjoy and plenty of amusing incidents. The writing is light-hearted but there are glimpses from time to time of deeper hurts.

I recommend this one to anyone who has a bit of time to sit and enjoy a quick and amusing read.

I have read Debby's earlier book and loved it. I started Annie May and could not put it down - well written, witty plot and once again I could not put it down until the last page! I did'nt think the Ex Wife's Survival Guide could be bettered! Well done Debby and I am looking forward to the next one

Format: Paperback
This is the fourth book I've read by Debby Holt, and the first time I've been disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed The Trouble with Marriage, The Ex-wife's Survival Guide and Love Affairs for Grown Ups, but this one I just couldn't get on with.

I felt that the two main characters were not particularly endearing. Annie, as a 37 year old teacher who kept a book noting things and people who had upset her, sounded a bit self-absorbed and immature to me. And with Ben, for a man who was supposed to be serious about someone - there was just too much bed-hopping. Although Annie wasn't innocent of that either!

I found the storyline tedious, and sub-storylines with her sisters and her friends just far too many. I found myself forgetting just which sister or friend was which, and certainly which children belonged to which! And then just as the book is wrapping up, we get introduced to yet another set of characters as Bella's family! I found myself seeing a character appear and thinking `Have I seen her before or is she new, and if so, who the hell is she?'

I'm still keeping faith with Debby Holt, but as I said earlier, I'm disappointed with this one.
