Anne Cockburn

Anne Cockburn is a Professor in Early Years' Education at the University of East Anglia. She was engaged in primary initial teacher education for many years and during this time wrote several books on the subject including 'Understanding mathematics in the lower primary years'with her colleague Derek Haylock. Her research interests and expertise lie in the teaching and learning of mathematics with a particular focus on young children as they embark on formal schooling. Anne is also very interested in teachers' lives and well being and, with Terry Haydn, wrote 'Recruiting and retaining teachers' published by Falmer Press."
