Seventeen-year-old Anna is an unskilled, natural witch still seeking a way to access her magick. For the first time, Anna believes she's found someone who can help her explore her own magick.

Her dream quickly turns into a nightmare.

Creatures of the Light have gone missing, and the witches she admires so well are a part of the mystery.

Before she knows it, Anna is knee deep in the disappearances and trying to forge a relationship with a certain soldier named Tommy, all while trying to find her way. Will she have time to save the creatures of the light or will she become the next victim?

About the Author

Julia Crane is the author of the YA paranormal fiction novels: Keegan's Chronicles, Mesmerized and Eternal Youth. Julia was greatly encouraged by her mother to read and use her imagination, and she's believed in magical creatures since the day her grandmother first told her an Irish tale. Julia has traveled far and wide to all the places her grandmother told her about, gaining inspiration from her journeys to places like Nepal, Cyprus, Sri Lanka, Italy, France and many more. And who knows? Maybe the magical creatures she writes about are people she met along the way. Julia Crane has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. Although she's spent most of her life on the US east coast, she currently lives in Dubai with her husband and three children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adventures with Anna (from Keegan's Chronicles) 1 Jun 2012
By Susan K. Saltos "Kat" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
If you've read Keegan's Chronicles (Coexist, Conflicted, Consumed) you'll enjoy this story starring Keegan's best friend Anna. It's not necessary to read them first but I would recommend it. Anna was a fast paced story that was well written and a "can't put it down" read. It was a great story of Anna's life at college in Seattle. She's trying to find herself and learn more about her witch powers. I was really glad that Ms. Crane really went into Anna's learning of witchcraft as I had felt we didn't see enough of that in the earlier books. But I was disappointed that there really was not much at all with Anna and Tommy's relationship. I really felt that Ms.Crane should have spent more time in developing that relationship. When Anna is in danger you later see how concerned Tommy was about her. And how Anna was worried she would never see Tommy again. The book failed to deliver in such emotions between these two characters. There was one date and a couple brief talks but there really wasn't anything to solidify the statement they were soul mates. It didn't come across that way. It was more of a liking and a beginning stages of getting to know each other. I would have also liked to have seen more about Nora at the bookstore. Anna supposedly got a part time job there but there's never any scenes with her working at the store and getting to know Nora. There was one scene I thought was totally unnecessary (the college frat party). I guess it was just to show how awkward Anna felt with being at college where she didn't really know anyone. I really enjoyed this book but I thought it was too short and had potential to be so much more. There wasn't a whole lot that happened and finding the missing creatures of light just seemed too quick and easy. Hopefully, Ms. Crane will continue writing this series and further develop these great group of friends of magical beings. I'm looking forward to more. I truly believe Ms. Crane is a gifted author. She has unique and entertaining characters and ideas. I think that more of them need to be written down where we can see more of the characters and their relationships with each other. For this book it was more action in solving the mystery than having relationships with anyone whether in friendship or romance. However, it WAS a really good story. Keep writing, Ms Crane, I can't wait to read more!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for fans of Keegan's Chronicles 1 Jun 2012
By Sarah Edmondson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
In this book, Keegan's witch friend, Anna, is trying to find out who she is, because she's basically one of the only people who doesn't understand what - if any - powers she has. Anna's mom is a dark witch, so she tried to keep Anna from going down the wrong path. Anna goes to college and gets wrapped up with a couple of dark witches, thinking they'll help her discover her own magic. But they've been kidnapping good creatures and almost kill her, until Keegan helps her escape.

Another great read by Julia Crane. The Keegan series is one of my favorite, and I was curious about Anna early on. She seemed like both a mysterious character and a really good person, so I was super happy when Ms. Crane released a book about her. I've also really enjoyed seeing Ms. Crane's writing grow over the series. I fell in love with Coexist (the first book), and each book has gotten better and better in execution. Brava, Ms. Crane! More Keegan books, please.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite Crane 1 Jun 2012
By Bookish Witch - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Anna is a spin off from Julia's wildly successful Keegan's Chronicles series, and we follow Anna - the sometimes awkward, most times quirky witch who is Keegan's best friend. This is definitely my favorite of Julia's books so far, though I could totally be biased because I AM a witch! Anna is a change of pace from the straight romance of Keegan's books - though there is romance, it isn't the driving force of the novel.

Anna is living on her own in Seattle, attending an art school and trying to find a way to fit in. A chance encounter with another natural witch leaves Anna believing that she just might have found someone who can help her hone her own powers and become the witch she knows is inside. But what she doesn't know is that she's about to be drawn into a world of lies and half-truths where she has to learn who is friend and who is foe. As she battles to find the missing and vanquish the darkness behind the disappearances, Anna learns a lot about herself - her magick - and grows up in the process.

"Anna" is fast-paced and a fun read, recommended for teens but enjoyable for adults.
