Yes, the keyboard is held in place by 4 magnets and is detachable. I have removed mine dozens of times and 're-seated it without trouble because the keyboard is self locating.

Fred, I use mine with an IPad 2 and it is an excellent addition. My guess is that any tablet with Bluetooth will work with this keyboard. But the case is intended for a tablet with a ten inch screen and the cutouts are intended for an IPad 2. I Am well pleased with mine.

Just slightly harder than a modern laptop keyboard, in no way a problem.

I have tried it a couple of times on the iPad 2 and the iPad Mini, and what happens is that it stops charging after a while and switches off. The iPad is nowhere near fully charged, just a bit recharged - in the region of about 20 percent. Haven't tried it on iPad Air yet. It is brilliant with the iPhone 4 though, from zero to 100 percent in just two hours.

That's a good question, I don't know, I've never needed to use that but there is a £ on the onscreen keyboard on the iPad.
