Having read very good reviews for the Anker batteries via XDA developers I decided to purchase one and after looking around found that instead of paying £8.00 for one I can purchase a double pack with a wall charger for only a little more, since the UK versions of the wall chargers were out of stock I opted for this US version which cost me less than £12 which I am well chuffed about.
When the items arrived I was very impressed with their quality, especially considering how cheap they were, the batteries felt solid and very well made and the charger had a very nice spring loaded dock for the battery to sit in whilst charging, it also has rubber feet to protect the battery when clamped in charging, which I thought was a nice addition. Strangely the springy clamp also spins around, I guess to accommodate different batteries.
I wasted no time plugging one of the batteries in to charge via the included universal charger (and a US to UK adapter) the light on the charger turned red and after a few hours it turned a purpley blue, I then took out the OEM Sensation battery (hopefully for the final time) and threw the Anker in there, just as an FYI the battery is slightly thicker and a tad heavier than the OEM one but there is a slight gap behind the back cover on the sensation so it fills that up nice.
Some people have reported that their battery stats don't work properly and need to be recalibrated for the new battery, however I haven't done any to mine and its reading the battery fine.
I am still currently on the first charge I described above and my stats and settings read as following:
Screen brightness is on Auto
All background data and syncing is on
GPS Off
Bluetooth Off
Wi-Fi On
18hours on battery
Screen on for 4 hours
Wi-Fi active for 10 hours
My battery is reading just over half full and this has been with what I consider as heavy usage because in this time I have downloaded quite a few games along with their SD Data files which contained a few GBs worth of files, I have also been playing said 3D games for quite a while as well as watching YouTube videos for an hour or so.
It's hard to display my full usage in a review but what I will say is that the Anker battery offers a vast improvement over the OEM battery which even with moderate usage I struggled to manage 14hours which resulted in me often having my brightness turned all the way down and my syncing off to last the day which seemed to defeat the point of having the high end phone. I think it's safe to assume if the results that I have received above continue I will have no trouble lasting throughout the day even with very heavy usage.
I am going on a trip for a few days soon and the extra battery power will prove immensely useful as well as the fact I have an actual extra battery to swap out to when the other dies, so no charging needed. I am very happy with this purchase; the items are cheap very well made as well as the fact that their performance is amazing.
I can't recommend this product enough if you have a Sensation and disappointed with the battery life you are getting from it, buy an Anker.
