5.0 out of 5 stars Darn Good Value 9 Mar 2013
By Dw
Verified Purchase
Delivery Excellent, Packaging Fine.
Durable construction for the price, ports seem solid enough too.
Subtle Nice touch is the proper metal thread's for locating the Fixing Screws,
Most Products in this price range usually connect with cheap sharp self tapper's
Nice!
Cable Length is accurate @ 2', with good quality connectors.
Plain and simple.
Just the Job.

Not so sure about the Brand Name "Anker" Though.........
Or is that my childish Brit Sense of Humour?

If the rest of the range of products are as good as this,
I shall be shopping with this seller again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Additional USB 3.0 Sockets 5 May 2013
Verified Purchase
Needed more USB 3.0 Sockets - So I ordered and received on schedule the Anker USB 3.0 PCI-E Card and the Anker USB 3.0 Front Panel, installed both items and the associated software supplied - ran straight away without any problems whatsoever, which I thought was quite unusual. Bearing mind though you will need to supply power to the PCI-E card via a molex, I found I already had a spare power supply molex from my existing computer power supply so in my case I didn't needed to buy an extra splitter cable. On this PCI-E Card is the 20 pin Connector that accepts the 20 pin connector on the flying lead which feeds the two USB 3.0 Sockets on the Front panel. Found it very easy to install..

5.0 out of 5 stars Update 21 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase
The product works ok but the ports are slightly out of line with the holes in the fascia plate, so you struggle a little when inserting a pen drive. If you are just plugging in peripherals that you dont need to remove very often the unit is ok, but for heavy everyday traffic of a usb pen or wifi dongle, mbb dongle e.t.c. i can imagine frustration setting in or even worse damage to the unit. Also the unit came with no fixing kit just an empty bag, not a problem for me as i have spares but could be a problem for some.

Update: Laptopmate cutomer services got in touch with me very prompt and courteous and sorted my problem, and sent me a new product out within a couple of days, could not be a better service thank you i will shop again with you in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful piece of gear at great price 29 May 2012
Verified Purchase
I have an ASUS Maximus 4 Extreme Z motherboard and needed a front panel USB 3.0 solution since the USB 3.0 adaptor supplied with the Mobo only installs at the back of my PC. I found this as opposed to the official ASUS unit but less than half of the price. It installed and was running in minutes so it is a very good buy if you have ASUS or ASrock motherboards.

This is designed to fit into the narrow space of 3.5 inches that ancient floppy disks used to occupy. However, like many modern dektop computers, mine has 5.25 inch panels only on the front so I had to make a DIY custom installation that looks untidy. It's a shame no 5.25 inch blanking plate was provided.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Product. But!!!! 22 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase
I have 2 computers and if i was to install it flush to the front of my case, the mounting holes do not match-up. I had to drill a hole either side then secure it in place. It does the job perfectly now that it is installed but beware, it Does not seem to have high compatability with all cases. My cases are not that old either. I have an Antec VSK-1000 & Cooler Master Elite 330.
It is very well made but could do with multiple mounting holes.
I know i could have sent it back but it does look great and well worth keeping. besides, it was only a 5 min job to make it fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Uspeed USB3 Front Panel 17 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase
Rebuilt my Antec cased computer with Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 motherboard which has USB3 header to plug a front panel into. This Uspeed USB3 2-port front panel was fitted in place of a multi port panel which I was not entirely happy with. I now have just the 2 ports (of this Uspeed panel) showing on the front of my computer. Looks so neat and unfussy. All my USB drives now plug into this panel giving good speed increase for my USB3 drives, especially my Kingston Mobilite G3 USB3/SD card reader, my Buffalo USB3 MiniStation and very good sound from my Grado SR80 headphones plugged into a USB3/3.5mm adapter, I'm sure also that there is a speed increase when transfering files from my Panasonic TM900, but this just might be an illusion! I recommend this Uspeed unit for the speed increase and money well spent.

This is a review and installation guide for the 2 port USB 3.0 Front Panel HUB from Inateck! Which requires the 19 pin USB 3.0 connector on system board or PCI Express card connector! This is a great product if you have a spear USB 3.0 connector present on the systems board of your computer, it's also an excellent way to add more USB 3.0 ports to the front of your computer, if you have a spare floppy disk bay or front mounting 3.5 hard drive bay!
The installation of this USB 3.0 HUB is relatively straightforward you install the product from the front of your computer insert the screws, and plug in the USB 3.0 19 pin connector into your systems board and you're done! I have been using this product for the past few months and it works flawlessly, but Note that some USB 2.0 products and devices are not backward compatible with USB 3.0 ports, so just be aware of this! And this is true of all USB 2.0 built devices some are compatible with USB 3.0 ports and some are not.
This USB 3.0 Front panel Hub works at the speed of whatever device you plug in to it and it looks very well on the front of the computer also! If you need USB 3.0 capability on your computer and it does not have the USB 3.0 connector on the systems board you can install a PCI express card that will have a USB 3.0 connector present, here is the link to that product. Inateck Superspeed 4 Ports PCI-E to USB 3.0 Expansion Card - Interface USB 3.0 4-Port Express Card Desktop with 15 pin SATA Power Connector, [ Include with A 4pin to 2x15pin Cable + A 15pin to 2x 15pin SATA Y-Cable ]
In my opinion anyone that needs a front panel USB 3.0 hub on the front of their computers then this product will be a good decision! Sturdy and is compatible with the usual devices that you would plug into USB 3.0 Ports and it's also at a great price! Watch the installation video and review for more detailed.
