Declutter your desk.
Featuring a power-bar design and palm-grippable size, this hub functions as a mini data-transfer station to accommodate your collection of USB devices, without cluttering your precious desk space.

Full functionality.
This thing may be small, but it's still a fully-functional hub. Enjoy hot swapping, plug and play, and full backward compatibility with USB 2.0 / 1.1. For added protection, we've even built in a surge protector to safeguard your gadgetry.

System Requirements:
Windows (32/64 bit) 8.1 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP, Mac OS X 10.6-10.9, Linux 2.6.14 or later.
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 users should upgrade to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 or later to avoid unstable connections.

Compatibility:
2.4GHz wireless devices, MIDI devices and some USB 3.0 devices may not be supported. Try using the host port or a USB 2.0 connection.

Power Usage:
For a stable connection, don't use this hub with high power consumption devices, such as external hard drives. The hub will sync but not charge tablets and other devices which require a higher power input.

Worked as described for a few days. Keep this in mind: I take care of my possessions, and perform tasks as any normal person would; knowing that judge this next statement/fact accordingly. I unplugged a normal usb cable form one of the slots in this item......the thin/cheap/weak blue plastic "guide" (square piece of plastic inside the slot) came up with the cable, I was shocked and when I removed it found it had become brittle and had already divided into two pieces. To avoid any confusion as to wether this was due to negligence or something else: I have no pets, no kids, no guests that have access to my computer room in any way. I did not travel with the item nor did I move it for any reason. To make matters worse, the second item (I bought two) had THE SAME THING HAPPEN twice to two different slots, totaling three between two items, all with three different usb cables (one a standard usb cable, one a standard usb drive, the other an console controller). This had two stars instead of one because delivery was on time. I do not give bad reviews often...
You have been warned.

Review for the 2 port version:
It's a great product in terms of quality. Both ports work ok and USB data speed keeps being the same with or without the hub, so it's perfect in terms of doing what it's supposed to do.
The only flaw I find is this annoying LED light. This blue light, to me, it's definitely too powerful, it illuminates my whole room when I have lights turned off, and I'm still trying to guess its purpose: it's always on, whether you have and usb connected or not. If it wasn't for that, I'd have given it 5 stars without hesitating.

Wanted a USB3 replicator for my Sony Ultra-book. This one is small enough to take with me when I travel, and works perfectly for all low power USB 3 peripherals, such as my headset and mouse connection. Installed first time with Windows 8. Looks like a quality item, blue strip glows when plugged in so you know it is working.

I can't fault the product; I couldn't find a better deal for a USB 3 hub, it looks good, does what it's supposed to and is at a reasonable price. One small criticism might be the USB plug that the hub connects to is short at about 6" length, that's not a problem for me so I don't thinks it's a common reason to dislike a product for anyone else.

I have an under the desk computer with USB3 and USB2 ports on the front panel. If I plug in a USB3 device into one of the front panel ports my USB2 wireless mouse becomes erratic. Close proximity is a problem with USB3 on some computers. The answer is to scramble under the desk and plug your USB3 device into a back port and hope that its lead is long enough for easy access. This lovely Anker hub solves all the problems. It plugs into the back USB3 port, its cable is long enough to comfortably sit on my desk and it has two USB3 ports on it.

Fit and finish seem very good. Small cable means little clutter. Black shiny finish is attractive. ports are well spaced to attaching devices is easy. Has enough juice to power a 1tb drive with no external power supply.

Anker gave me this product in exchange for my honest feedback.

This is the second hub I have used although the first was externally powered, being host powered does reduce the battery life of my laptop by about 25 mins from a regular 2 hours 30 mins when 3 additional devices are connected via the hub (phone transferring files, keyboard and mouse). Just don't leave it plugged on while booting if your computer booting order starts with USB drives first as it will take longer to start up. Windows seems to think it has found new hardware each time I plug it into a different port.

*Have tested while it was plugged into a USB 2.0 port copying files across from my phone to an external hard drive and averaged a speed of about 18mb/s which is pretty close to when there is no hub involved (20.5mb/s)

The good:
Well packaged, really good USB 3.0 transfer speeds, USB 2.0 backwards transfer speeds also really good. Under normal operation the hub stays cool and with heavy usage only warms up slightly. Ports well spaced out, so connecting usb devices like pen drives which are notoriously fat and compete for room like on my other hub is no problem. No problems thus far with any devices I plug in.

The Improvable:
Didn't particularly like the glossy finish, matte probably would have been better. The cord is a little short (I realise thats probably to avoid power losses) and not really flexible (this limits the usb ports it can be plugged into at least in my setup as one side of my laptop leans over the side of my desk, which could potentially be a problem if a user only has a pc with one usb 3.0 port). Grips, i.e. rubber feet on the underside would have been nice.

Full disclosure, Anker sent me this as a review unit for test and evaluation.

In terms of construction, it's solid but still light and compact. The cord is quite short which is actually handy for a laptop, but might be an issue if you want to use it connected to a desktop. Having had it less than a week I can't comment on its durability but I can't see this being an issue. In terms of looks, it's modern and fine -- I would have preferred a black version but this white/black one looks fine.

To be honest I'm probably not (yet) the target user for this device, as I do not have many USB 3.0 devices, although I do have a USB 3.0 port on my laptop. To test it out, I connected various USB 2.0 drives to it. (Mice and keyboards work fine with it and are not limited by USB 2.0.) I then tested the speed that I got through the USB 3.0 port and got identical speed as when I connected it directly to the laptop. I tested the speed simultaneously for multiple 2.0 devices and also got the same speed.

This would probably be best for someone with multiple USB 3.0 devices, but it could also allow faster transfer for multiple USB 2.0 devices. I'm sort of tempted to create a RAID array with it but wouldn't want to have to keep it connected to my laptop all the time.

Overall it's a solid device and I will use it whenever I need extra USB ports. Once I get a desktop with USB 3.0 then it will probably be even more useful.
