i buy these for a bit of fun, it's always curious to me to see how the cartoonists take Laurell's descriptions of the characters and see how they draw them. In this issue we see Richard and Stephen for the first time, i like the comics and they do stick close to the plot of the books, my complaint is the way the characters are drawn, really such big thighs and tiny waists. please.

I read the novels, and I am really enjoying the graphic novel series. I just wish they came out faster. I think the designs they did for the characters are very good...ok, I am not a great fan of how they drew Stephen, but I am sure lots of people are unhappy with other things. I was also a little irritated that it looks like they drew clothes on last minute for a couple of scenes that were nude in the original novel. Rashida is standing in the shadows and they would have covered everything, but then it looks like someone went back and added a black bra just in the coloring phase. I know they cannot do full nudity in these (though it makes me wonder how they are going to get anything published in the later books). But there is strategic shadowing, or angling they could have done. Either way, I am enjoying the graphic novel series regardless of the few complaints I have with it. Now...bring on Asher!
