Another out of print novel by this under rated author that i definitely recommend buying from the few copies still available here on Amazon. It is a brief novel but for this reason even more satisfactory (Stephen King please take note) of a lonely and mentally sick young man. Though he doesnt know he is sick and that s what makes this book frightening. There are no boogey men or monsters of any type but this book might impress you more cause the terror is of a very realistic kind. If you dont agree with me watch the news and then tell me that what happens in this guy s basement is impossible. Nigel , the young man in question is the narrator of the story and in truth it s hard not to like him a little bit. That is how well written this book is, and it s a shame that novels of this kind are considered of another era.

Simon Beckett: Animals (Thriller) 8 Aug 2011

Hello,
I want to recommend all people the psychological roman "Animals" from Simon Beckett. It is one of the best and thrilling books, I read the last years. It is about a young man, educated by a prudish mother and a sexuel unrestricted father.
This contrast and the point, that he does not have an excessive intelligence leads his fate and the fate of some other people into a "hell of life".
He is catching unknown people by accident and after that, he will keep them....but I do not want to betray to much.
