Animals in Bronze,

A well-renowned reference work, this book gives excellent basic information on the production of bronze figures and provides an extensive range of illustrations of the work of the sculptors. The illustrations are grouped by animal type which is useful to the enthusiasts and collectors who have a primary interest in a particular animal group, rather than particular sculptors. A section at the end of the book deals with the work of particular sculptors and references the pages on which illustrations of their work appears earlier in the book. The prices quoted are, of course, well out of date but the publishers state that they can provide an annual update of the prices for those who request it.

THE BOOK IS QUITE COMPLETES AS TO ITS SUBJECT, BUT HAS A PROBLEM:
AS IT SAYS THAT THE VALUATION PRICES ARE GOING TO BE RENEWED EVERY YEAR, AND AS THE EDITION WAS FROM 1993 (THIRD ED.), I WROTE TO ANTIQUE COLLECTORS CLUB ON UK TO BE ENROLLED ON THE PRICE LIST USERS, AND THEY SAID THE SERVICE OF ACTUALIZING THE PRICES IS NOT ANYMORE DONE SINCE THE LAST EDITION DATES FROM 1993 ! THIS IS THE ONLY AGAINST COMENT I COULD SAY.REGARDING ITS CONTAINS THE BOOK IS FULL OF PHOTOGRAPHS (B&W) AND DATA ON THE ARTISTS AND FOUNDERS ! VERY GOOD TOOL FOR COLLECTORS. |
