This book is excellent if you want to find out every thing about one certain animal - its characteristics , traits , healing powers and the myths and legends which surround it.It is well written and each animal ( even the ant ) has a great deal of information written about it.
This book includes the gods and goddesses of the animals and their meanings .
All in all a very interesting read but in some places does tend to go too far back into history which does get slightly confusing.

This is an excellent collection on animal power and a must for anybody who wishes to understand more about the magic of animals. The author clearly has a very wide depth to her knowledge, as well as imparting animal facts, she also includes information gathered from a lifetime of searching, I'm sure. Each animal (over 70 of them) has its own chapter with information such as: characteristic, legends and traditions, medicine and power from any global culture which has knowledge of that particular animal.

This book helped me to anaylise visions I have during meditation. I liked how the text was seperated into information about the animal, then how the animal fits in with the world and then what the apparance of the animal means spiritually. It is well written and easy to find the animal that I am after.
