Product Description

Product Description

This book introduces a menagerie of charming paper animals. Each animal is built on simple shapes any child can master in moments and will lead to hours of pleasure and play.
Animal Origami follows the "unit origami" method. You simply make several basic units-the "boat," the "house," the "boot"-then assemble the finished units, like building blocks.
All the popular animals put in an appearance. Such perennial favorites as dogs and penguins are joined by more inventive versions of the elephant, lion, and kangaroo.
As in our long-selling Origami for Parties and Origami for Christmas, high-quality photographs accompany the instructions and suggest ways in which the origami can be used for decoration or play, guaranteeing long-lasting entertainment for children, their parents, and enthusiastic hobbyists.

A great book 15 Oct 2010
I bought this for my wife for our paper (1st) anniversary. She was touched at the present and thought it was interesting.

After looking at the designs and how they are made this book is very good at what it does and the end results look amazing.

I believe this book is good for people new to origami and those who already have an interest.

I recommend this product.

A Menagerie for Beginners 25 Mar 2000
By Amy Yang - Published on Amazon.com
If you are a beginner in origami and want to expand your capabilities, this is a great and easy-to-follow book. I've also bought "Origami Zoo: An Amazing Collection of Folded Paper Animals" by Lang and Weiss. I found that book to be incredibly challenging. It's something I will want to work toward to in the future. And although the animals in this book don't turn out as intricate as the ones from the other book, it is still quite entertaining. Plus, the steps are easy to memorize, and I get a sense of satisfaction that I'm actually learning the basic folds. Finally, I liked the extra bonus origami paper included in the book. So if you are a beginner like me, I highly recommend this as a stepping stone for further folding pursuits.
Great book for kids! 16 Dec 2011

I've dozens of origami books, but this is the best working with my two daughters, really great! After trying this they were so ethusiastic that I could teach them something more difficult because they now know that origami is funny.
