Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this really cool looking backpack for my son to go to school with. It's primarily made from robust cotton. The 1st serious rainshower and it made me realise that it got very little water-prooving, which is less 'cool' as I now make my lad go to school with his books in an precautionary plastic bag inside. Also, it doesn't survive much 'rough handling' as you would expect from the average minor nearly twelve years old. It's not even a month, yet, since school has started and he's got already a hole in the mashy part where the water bottle goes. Of course, also age-related he cannot tell me how it happened. I conclude he must have accidentally chucked or rubbed it against a rough surface (like a tarmac floor or wall?). Surprisingly the zip around the lunch box compartment is still good. I'd give it '5 stars' for looks on a nice sunny day, but only '3 stars' for day-to-day survival which is the more important to me. Hence '3 stars' all over, what a pity.
If 'Animal' could give it a shell-coating for water-proofing and a stronger nylon for the mesh this could be a brilliant bag!!!!
