"Dare I say it... as good as the book" Guardian"

Product Description

George Orwell's 1945 satire on the perils of Stalinism has proved magnificently long-lived as a parable about totalitarianism anywhere - and has given the world at least one immortal phrase: Everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others. This new dramatisation sticks very closely to the book and retains both its affection for the animals and the incisiveness of its message. Northern Stage Theatre Company are taking it on a year-long tour of England, Scotland, Wales - and Romania. The book contains a helpful set of production notes intended for schools and other groups wishing to stage this version of Animal Farm.

George Orwell states in the afterword that he was inspired to write the novel (fairytale or whatever. . ) when he saw a small boy navigating a large cart horse through an old English village. And that's a very good analagy.
I read Animal Farm for O level many years ago, but more recently whilst on Holiday in Kenya and witnessing proper inequalities in wealth - maybe not dissimilar to early twentieth century Russia? - I thought I could imagine it well.
Animal Farm is superbly written. You could read it cover to cover in a single sitting, but that would be a shame. The characters fit superbly, and are very funny. Especially Benjamin the donkey who keeps saying "donkeys live a long time", superbly cynical - and so right.
Superb

A fairy tale or a nightmare? It all began with a dream by Major, a Middle White boar, of equality, and freedom from oppression. Maybe not in our life comrade, but eventually.

The dream brings a song. Intolerable conditions lead to revolution. As time passes things change; not exactly as planned.

There are two striking parts to this tale that stand out. First when Boxer is sent to the hospital and Benjamin reads the side of the van "Horse Slaughterer." Secondly there was a party in the farm house as the pigs were playing cards with the men, two aces of spades showed up. An argument ensues. Then a realization was drawn by the creatures outside looking in as they "...looked from pig to man, and man to pig, and from pig to man again..."

This Book a Truly Good Microcosm of a typical Dictatorship. It is also wider representation of how Man Nature To Exploit those less fortunate than Them. For those who like books that have a wider meaning and keep a impression on you long after you read the novel This is a book for you. It really makes you rethink any situation you are faced with.

For Those Who Just Like A Good Book This is also a good read... Very Simplistic in Plot and Language and quite short But Very Gripping You can easily read this in an afternoon. This is one of those books that are just right to read on a rainy afternoon, Very Catching The characters are interesting and the book makes you just want to read about their future.

A Brilliant Book Should Be Read By Everyone....
Great For A Rainy Day...
