In the wide world of the game animal crossing, its easy to not know how to get that certain item, or how to catch that damned fish. So the fine folks at Prima decided to help us out and give us a complete guide for animal crossing containing Ultimate listings of all the fish, items and insects helping you to stay on top of the game and make sure you never miss anything.
the Prima guide really lends a helping hand for players which are stuck in the game and can tell you where to turn by offering tips for villagers and writing stuff.
if youre gonna get a guide, get this.

2.0 out of 5 stars its okay... 14 Jun 2013
well this book gives you information on all the items you want its layout is very precise and easy to read but it gives you information that you already know or find out during the game i.e golden items shovels nets etc, a good book but i think its a bit overated and over priced

2.0 out of 5 stars The "Official" Guide. 7 Mar 2004
By A Customer
This Official Guide - and I use the term "official" loosely.
It is well presented, and looks like it's going to be full of excellent and useful information but I really don't feel that it lets me know anything I didn't in the first place.
It has a few bits of misinformation in there such as Turnip Trading and there are several terrible mistakes in the furniture listings lead me to think this book isn't as official as it states.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Errors in this book! 24 Sep 2003
By A Customer - Published on
This is one of the worst books Prima has put out yet. It has good strategy sections, but when it comes to facts, this book is full of errors. The fish and insect charts are simply wrong in many cases, saying certain species aren't available in some months when they really are and vice versa. Prices of housing additions are wrong. Information about store hours is wrong. Finding info on a specific item is extremely difficult, since nothing is in alphabetical, no pictures are supplied, and the name of the items is in small print. The calendar of events is wrong, with erroneous dates and missing events etc. What's even worse, the Prima website does not have an errata posted that corrects all these problems. Go for the Nintendo Power guide. You'll be a lot happier. You can get it at Nintendo's website free with a subscription to Nintendo Power magazine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nintedo Guide is 10x better 5 Mar 2003
By A Customer - Published on
This guide is a waste of money compared to the Nintendo official guide. The Nintendo guide has pictures of everything: furniture, carpets, wallpaper, clothing, fossils, tools, fish, insects, stationary and more. It also is much better organized and has pictures of everything. The Prima guide is hard to read due to it's four colum per page format and the item guide is horrible. The only thing that saves this book are the charts of when to catch bugs and fish, although there are some wrong information and it does not tell where they can be found. Get the Nintendo book if you can, at Kamrt when you buy the game, you get the guide. The Nintendo guide is worth having.

1.0 out of 5 stars This guide is wrong in SOOOO many ways. 16 Mar 2004
By bess - Published on
This guide is so full of errors. Errors that really can affect the quality of your gameplay. Their furniture list is wrong, the museum info, what you can and cannot buy back from the nookmeister, when and where to find fish and bugs, some of the song names for totokeke. event happenings, parts or all of these things are wrong.
This guide is a complete waste of money.
Not to mention the lists are neither alphbetical nor in the same order they appear in your catalog, and there are no pictures of the items, so finding things for reference is next to impossible

4.0 out of 5 stars Recommended for dedicated Animal Crossing players 24 Aug 2005
By D. Shaw - Published on
This guide is a great tool for Animal Crossing fans to find out what pieces they are missing from their sets, and when activities happen (in general) and items can be found. Beware, however, if you are looking for a guide that will tell you every detail of your game. Due to the nature of Animal Crossing, no guide can give you a complete list of what to expect. The guide includes a calendar of the events for 2003, so if you're playing the game at the current date and time these events will not be accurate. This guide can tell you what to expect, but can't tell you exactly when and where it will happen in your Animal Crossing town. The only way to do that is to play your game every day ;) The layout of the guide makes it easy to catalog what you have collected and see what you are still missing, but looking up items takes a bit of page turning. There are nearly complete item lists, and approximate timetables for catching fish and insects. Overall, this guide is a great resource for collecting, but it can't replace the months/years of gameplay necessary to 'complete' the game and do all there is to do in your town.
