We have found this book very useful in preparing our son for nursery mornings. It shows them lots of typical activities in the nursery(indoor & outdoor play, snack time, potty/toilet/accidents, washing hands, craft, music etc). The book also 'deals with' missing mums (teddy bears might miss their mums, thinks Anna, the main character seen painting in the cover). There is a baby in the Anna's family. This was quite helpful for us as 'babies can't go to nursery' (in our case preschool from 2+) which explained why only our son goes, and why mum and baby sister won't stay there. We have previously been going to playgroups together, but nursery/preschool is only for him... What happened in the book was useful during settling in period, when he would get a little nervous, but then say 'no babies at nursery' and kiss his sister bye bye, and go into his playgroup room. The book also mentions big kids who go to school. Lovely book!! Recommended :D

Lots to discuss here if you have a little one facing that difficult first day at nursery. This book takes you through everything a child might do and the illustrations are bright and cheerful. It is always best to prepare a toddler for what they might expect and books can play a vital part in allowing them to talk about what they might like or things they are nervous about. Very good buy.

Was a lovely book to show my son what usually happens at a nursery, like painting, playing etc and that you can make new friends to have fun with!

I am absolutely thrilled to have received this little book - and WOW, super quick delivery! The book covers many aspects young children find daunting about going to nursery school in a positive and friendly way. My child has had this book only a few hours and I've been asked to read it to her four times. Will definitely recommend this book.

We thought our very confident daughter would be pleased when we told her she was going to nursery but it turns out she wasn't sure if she was big enough.
This friendly book with beautiful illustrations provides lots of opportunities to talk about different aspects of nursery. After reading it for a few nights leading up to her first visit she had an idea about some things she would like to do there. It definitely helped her to feel confident about the change. We continued to read it for a couple of weeks after the initial visit (at her request) and that was usually when she wanted to talk about her experiences there, especially how it differed from the book ("We haven't got a rabbit in my nursery!").
I would recommend this book for any child over 2 who is starting nursery because no matter how confident your child it is a big change in their lives. This book will help them to understand and so cope better.

My two year-old niece read this through to me page by page over Skype she loved it so much. She also had the Maisie book. When my sister took her to nursery on the first day, she joined in with everything and when my sister said 'Is it ok if I go now?' she said 'Yes Mummy. there's the door'! A smooth transition...

This book was a bedtime staple as we prepared our little one for nursery. He was excited to start and understood while it might be a bit nerve-wracking he'd soon feel at home. Gorgeous illustrations and a heart-warming narrative. Lovely buy.

A brilliant book to read with a little one about to start nursery or preschool. Settled my sons nerves about what preschool would be like and we read it so much he now knows half of it by heart!
