Product Description

Product Description

Angelina is a young mouse who longs to stretch out her little pointed toes, put on her pink ruffled skirt, and take to the stage as a famous ballerina. Those days might be still sometime in the future, but for now she has her charming ballet teacher Miss Lilly to help her on her way. Features the episodes 'The Rose Fairy Princess', 'Two Mice in a Boat', 'The Ballet Tickets' and 'Angelina at the Fair'.

From the Back Cover

Based on the enormously popular books by Helen Craig and Katharine Holabird, Angelina Ballerina tells the timeless tales of a remarkable little mouse who dreams of becoming a prima ballerina. Headstrong, passionate and determined, Angelina is a character children of all ages will relate to. Filled with humour and tenderness, Angelina Ballerina will capture their hearts, and prove to be a classic for generations to come.

Contains the following episodes:

The Rose Fairy Princess
The normally fearless Angelina is overjoyed when she wins the title role—until she discovers she has to soar above the stage on a single wire …

Two Mice in a Boat
Angelina and the mischievious Sammy Watts don’t see eye to eye on how their carnival boat should be decorated. Trouble is, if they don’t resolve their differences, they’re in danger of sinking!

The Ballet Tickets
With her usual single-mindedness, Angelina determines to see her ballet heroes’ only show in Mouseland, tickets or no tickets …

Angelina at the Fair
Little cousins can be a real nuisance, especially when they’re too frightened to go on all the fun rides …

Also features:

Beautifully shot "Little Stars" footage exclusive to video and starring students of the Royal Academy of Dance.
Rose Fairy Princess – Jumping and Leaping.
Ballet Tickets – Pirouetting.
Two Mice in a Boat – Dancing in Costume.

This video is very appealing and loved by my three year old. After each Angelina story there is a "little Stars" feature showing real children having a go at ballet. My older children love these bits.
I would recommeend this video for all little girls or budding ballerinas.
We have another Angelina Ballerina video which the children aren't too impressed with but this new one is a firm favourite and has been watched 5 times in four days!

My three year old daughter just loved this video. She especially liked the extra clips of youngsters at the Royal Academy doing some of the steps that Angelina does - it adds much to the video. When asked, my daughter now wants to be a ballerina! The stories were better than in the first video and seem to be reflecting the Angelina in the books more. The Alice toy which comes with the video is good too. Roll on the next release. (It will be interesting to see what Hit does with the Thomas the Tank Engine - lets hope they respect the original ideas of the Rev Awdry which is more than the Americans did)

The graphics are true to the original book - which is what we wanted. Four episodes with bits from the childrens ballet school showing how to do ballet movements. Also has a lovely soundtrack. Big thumbs up!

5 Angelina Ballerina episodes - perfect for Angelina fans who, like mine, are bereft of Angelina on-demand since the programmes were removed from our on-demand TV listings!

My daughter of 3, whom I primarily bought this for as she has an upcoming ballet performance to Angelina's music, loves this but so too does my nearly 5yo son.

There are about 4 stories; good fun and with animations in the style of the original pictures. Not sure if the stories in this DVD are actual books (we have four of the latter); I thought the Rose Fairy Princess story itself echoed 'Angelina and the Princess' - the twins in the DVD are the 'baddies', which I didn't see at all in the books.

great dvd
I love the voicework and my 3yo loves the young ballerina live action segment after each episode. Well worth the cost if you have a child aged 1 - 7.
