Product Description

Product Description

It's tough being a parent. You can't help but worry about your baby every minute of every day, even when your baby is sleeping soundly. But we can help remove some of that concern with the Angelcare AC300 movement monitor. This movement only monitor detects sound and movement, so if your baby is still for 20 seconds, you'll be alerted. It is a great addition if you already have a sound monitor or if you would like to monitor more than one baby in separate beds.

Product Description

Whether your baby is awake or sound asleep, Angelcares under the mattress Sensor Pad will detect all of your babys movements, even the slightest breathing movements. The Angelcare Movement Monitor uses a sensor alarm which works in such a way that if movement is not detected after 20 seconds then an alarm will sound to alert you to the situation.

if i didnt have this i woulnt sleep at night. ive had no false alarms. I had 1 real alarm. I ran to my babys moses basket and she had her comforter covering her face. I panicked!! picked her up straight away and shook her slightly to wake her up. LUCKILY she was fine. i dont give her a comforter or blanket anymore since then. she has a sleep sack instead. I dont know if that one time was a false alarm - im convinced it saved her life. Every mother should have one!

Excellent 9 Nov 2009
Have to agree with the previous reviewer. It should be made mandatory when one has a child ,to have this alarm. You sleep well at night knowing that an alarm will sound if your child stops breathing. Brilliant machine.....a life saving item & a sure way for a parent to get a good nights sleep.

Hard to fault 25 Sep 2011

Our son is another tummy sleeper, so we bought this to alleviate some of our concerns about his safety. I must say that having been convinced it was a product that exploited parents anxieties, I am now extremely pleased we have it and very grateful it was invented!

I had 3 concerns when I bought it..

(1) False alarms
(2) Baby crawling out of range of the pad and setting it off
(3) Picking up the baby in the middle of the night, forgetting to turn sensor off and waking husband (or whole street) with alarm!

After using it for a couple of weeks, this is the reality...

(1) There appear to be two market leaders selling sensor pads. If you check the reviews you will notice the other brand seems to have quite a few mentions of false alarms and indeed when I discussed buying one with other parents the "false alarm" complaint only came from people who had bought that brand, after using it for a while it has only once had a false alarm, thankfully during the day.
(2) When I saw the size of the pad I was quite dismayed as I was worried that as soon as the baby's chest area was out of range the alarm would sound. In reality the pad is placed in the centre of the cot and the baby has more than once crawled all the way to the end of the cot (toes just in range of pad!) and its still not gone off. As you can see from (1) & (2) it strikes the balance between being sensitive enough and too sensitive!
(3) As far as setting it off by picking the baby up, fortunately the base unit gives you a warning beep and a pause before the alarm goes off, so I have frequently scooped the baby up, heard the beep and deactivated it in time. The only time it has set the alarm off is when I picked the baby up and walked straight downstairs with him! A small price to pay.

wish i had purchased it earlier
I wish i had taken the plunge and brought one of these earlier. My son was 7 months old and after 4 colds and him struggling to breathe we decided it wasn't worth the risk. Read more

Excellent peace of mind product
I was dubious that this would work well but it is fantastic, it never goes off by accident and as soon as I take my baby out the cot the alarm goes off. Read more

sometimes works, sometimes not
It's just to keep parents calm. As I said in a title it sometimes works but very often not. WASTE OF MONEY.

Does everything it says on the box. No complaints and will probably use it for as long as possible. It works well when you also use a video camera in conjunction.

Brilliant
When buying this i was concerned that it would not be sensitive enough to pick up the tiny movements my baby would make when breathing and that we would have lots of false alarms. Read more

Ignore the alternatives
This monitor works perfectly, it replaced a similar product made by Tomy which never worked properly and gave up the ghost after 3 weeks. Very happy parents.
