I read a variety of reviews before taking the risk and buying his product, but it wasn't a risk at all. The best advice I followed was start by finding your heartbeat so you recognise it, the placenta has a beat which is slower than the baby's and sounds slightly like yours, the baby's sounds like a train or horses racing. We also started lower down just below my belly button which led to us finding our baby quickly and simply (I am 21 weeks though, but this advice was given by much less pregnant women). We did find that it screeched annoyingly when turned right up but actually sounded louder and clearly just under full volume. The two slots for headphones also save you from having to fight your partner to hear. Similarly the cord to the computer may not be incredibly long and is a bit awkward if you're using it lying down but this is solved if like us you use a laptop which can just go next to you on the bed. Overall we were both really impressed and enjoy using it though my partner drilled it into me not to panic if we couldn't find a beat as we're not professionals which i think everyone should take in before using this, if you're a hypochondriac without someone to talk sense to you then don't take the risk of stressing yourself out, this isn't meant for causing distress or necessarily checking up on your bump, it's for enjoyment and bonding.
