Product Description

A mysterious terrorist group is killing other terrorists, IRA thugs and CIA and KGB agents, all in a bid to break the fragile peace process. Sean Dillon is the only man who can find them, if he can live long enough.

No one is more feared than January 30: the mysterious terrorist group currently holding destructive and bloody reign over the world. Their targets are random, from all races and religions, their methods deadly. They are the enemies of peace and they are unstoppable.

With the carnage mounting, and a US senator due to fly in to broker urgent peace talks, the Prime Minister authorizes a special investigation to hunt down the terrorists with extreme prejudice. Former enemies now uneasy allies, Brigadier Charles Ferguson and Sean Dillon, once the most feared enforcer in the IRA, are enlisted to lead the desperate hunt.

Then the senator is targeted for death. Ferguson and Dillon need to move fast, putting their trust in each other, and their lives on the line, in order to seek out and destroy January 30 - before they can kill again, before they start a war.

Angel of Dearth 5 Jun 2009
By Sam
Format:Paperback
The Jack Higgins' Sean Dillon books have been going on for years now with the 17th title being released in 2009. `Angel of Death' is one of the earliest books in the series and therefore does not suffer as badly from the staleness that is rife in later books. In terms of plot the book is typical fun Higgins with an MP, Professor and actress all joining together to create an assassin group. Dillon and co. must discover who they are and hunt them down before they derail the Irish peace process.

`Angel' is such typical Higgins fair that Higgins' fans should know instantly whether you will enjoy it or not. The same paths are followed as many times before and since. Despite this the books is still good fun with Higgins' bringing an old fashioned feel to his adventure thrillers. Over the years my love of the Dillon books have dropped dramatically as they all seem the same, but as part of the early Dillon experience this book remains slightly fresher and still worth a read.

This is another Jack Higgans book centring on Sean Dillon, Brigadier Charles Ferguson and Hannah Bernstein. This book is about the January 30 terrorist group and the people of random nationalities and importance. It all starts with Dillon trying to find a man named Quinn and is led into a trap, he shoots five of them but one of them was hidden and a lone person on a BMW motercycle (in leathers and with a blackend helmet) shoots the guy and runs off.

A rise in the activity of this group is taken seriously when a high-ranking US Senator comes to Northern Ireland to help the peace process. Dillon and his colleagues must solve the riddle before the Senator gets found dead.

A truely thilling book full of twists and turns in its plot.

Another in Higgin's series centering around Sean Dillon, Brigadier Ferguson and Hannah Bernstein. As always the action is fast paced and exciting as the plot twists and turns back and forth from London to Ireland and a multitude of locations between. For Higgin's fans it follows on from 'On Dangerous Ground' and the three central characters are fleshed out and developed further. A really great thriller, involving, gripping and hard to put down.
