5.0 out of 5 stars Angel Witch revisited 23 Aug 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This is a great chance to revisit a band at the start of a career that was sadly too short. The inspiration for many better known bands, Angel Witch were pioneers of a brand of heavy metal mudic. The original album has been enhanced in this edition by a second CD of various contemporaneous demos and singles, plus some great live concert shots from Reading Festival 1980 taken by me (Alan Perry).

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb edition. 3 May 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This disc is one of the classic NWOBHM song. The deluxe edition features almost all material from the period 77-80. Highlights of the album are many. The first six tracks are simply killers. Are highly melodic tracks and very well performed by the trio. The issue has many versions and demos songs recorded in sessions at the BBC. The title is a must for lovers of NWOBHM. Buy NOW, without blinking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expanded as far as necessary.... 16 April 2013
By Tikka
Format:Audio CD
....to include all their best (early) work.

I saw 'Witch at least 30 times when they were regularly gigging around London in '79/'80, and this brings it all back. In particular the demos on CD2 are interesting takes of the more polished album songs.

Brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 14 July 2011

I'll keep this review short because there isn't much I can say. Simply a great package for an awesome NWOBHM band. Bonus tracks are excellent as well as the quality of remastered audio. You can really crank this sucker up and enjoy the mix of fast, melodic, and precise tracks on this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Angel Witch - 'Angel Witch - 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition' (UME) 25 Oct 2012
By Mike Reed - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Wow! Just when you thought that they had milked the 1980 Angel Witch debut lp for all that it was worth. First we got the CD reissue awhile back, then the CD re-released (again) with several bonus tracks. Now, UME has decided to give us worthy followers an expanded 2-CD edition [mind you] of this most under-rated / under-appreciated New Wave Of British Heavy Metal gem. Here, you get the lp's original ten tracks + a whopping twenty bonus cuts. Disc one tags on a rare four track mini-concert (if you want to call it that) gig from the BBC Friday Rock Show in early 1980. Disc two has a boatload of (good sounding) demos, 12" hard-to-find singles and 7" single edits. I don't know about the rest of you - but the heck with the downloads - as I want the physical copy of this must-have 2-CD expanded reissue. So highly recommended, that it hurts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rocks 25 Oct 2011

Never knew Angelwitch until recently so figured this anthology was the way to go. Some great rocking tunes including their "theme song". Worth getting if you're into NWOBHM or good old fashioned metal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Olde English Metal 8 July 2013
By Mark J. Godfrey - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Most of the songs are pretty good, a few clunkers. Added songs as usual were wasted effort. Why do they always want to add the songs that didn't make the cut, mix it louder and call it "The Deluxe Addition?"
