"An Angel for May" is the kind of film that you will want to see again and again. The film is intriguing, and inspiring, a study in contrast and coming of age. It shows a wonderful juxtaposition of the 21st century and the WWII era. The Yorkshire countryside, as portrayed in the film, is lovely, a stark contrast with the effects of the war on England. There are also the contrasts of old vs. young and tough vs. gentle. The acting is very good, the children playing the lead roles (Charlotte Wakefield as May and Mathew Beard as Tom) are fabulous. All in all, this is a great "feel good" film, a story that can make you think about the purpose of your life in its time and place
Overall, a great story for young and old alike, a believable cast and the beautiful backdrop of the English countryside. It is a shame that this one did not get widespread distribution, it could have been one of those sleepers that reaches nearly cult status and even awards. See it soon

In general, try and see this film anywhere, as it is outstanding. Thanks to Mr. Cokeliss, and everyone involved in making an amazing film
The book by Melvin Burgess is also excellent

Watch out for this one..For a break away from all the Finding Nemo's and Harry Potter's of the world, see this now! The child actors are wonderful, beating the likes of the Potter kids hands down. The performances are wonderful, the music fitting and the script, though it has its weaknesses, is above par.
I'd rather have my kids watch this than Potter anyday....

i was very disappointed when i received an angel for may not because the movie was poor but because i ordered it from u.k.expecting the movie to work . a disc was sent to me from outside the uk (region 1 us import)and will not play on any dvd player i have or on my computer.
