Would you move heaven and earth for the one you love? ANGEL DUST is a powerful, gritty and utterly modern tragic love story with a twist. When Serafina, the brightest and most beloved of all God's angels, is sent to collect Marcus Montague - the original badman - and take him to Hell, she finds herself powerfully drawn to him and makes a decision that places her in the middle of a war between Heaven and Hell. Can Serafina fall in love without falling from grace? Can Marcus's soul be saved? And just who is the mysterious and ever-so-helpful stranger Harry?

4.0 out of 5 stars Modern Angel of Death Tale 25 Nov 2012
Format:Paperback
You can tell immediately from the cover that this ain't about no ordinary angel. With her hoody and goth eyeliner staring out, this is the Angel of Death.
Serafina is her name, God's most loved Angel, and of course, they know when people are going to die. Serafina is sent to collect the souls of the bad lads, those going to Hell- gang members and other just, well, bad people. When on the brink of death, Serafina gives them a second chance to repent from their bad ways and to say they are sorry- if they don't take then, they're goin down.
But this all goes wrong when she falls in love with one of the bad guys, Marcus. He's going to go to Hell, there's no helping him. So Serafina, who's a little innocent and not realising what she's doing, makes a deal with the Devil to delay his time of death. She tries to help Marcus, basically telling him that he has to be good, but being good isn't easy when you have to protect your family-the 'hood'.
Sarah Mussi has put together a great story here. The characters are believable and well described . The story moves along at a good pace to keep the 11-15 year old category of readers absorbed. It's edgy, but at the same time it's an age old love story.

This is more than a paranormal romance, much more. Sarah Mussi has created a rare thing, a fictional world, so engaging, so consistent, and believable, you long for it to be real. Her characters are credible, and rounded. Her portrayal of the charismatic devil, original. The plot is full of surprises, and delicious frustrations. You don't read this book; you devour it. Buy it. Then tell all your friends to buy it. It's a work of pure genius.

4.0 out of 5 stars unique reading experience in this genre 17 Sep 2012
Format:Paperback
The last time I bought a book because the cover was so striking it ended badly, but having seen Angel Dust on a few review blogs I braved it and I'm so happy I did.

Angel Dust is a dark gritty love obsession. The story is narrated by Serafina who is desperate to save Marcus, a gangster, from hell. Truthfully I couldn't really make my mind up about him because I just didn't feel like I got to know him enough.

To me, Angel Dust is the story of Serefina's obsession with Marcus. Her absolute conviction that he is her fate, her life and the things she will do to save him. Sarah Mussi succeeded in striking the perfect balance between Serafina's innocence of being unspoilt without making her come across as stupid. As the reader you see the warning signs but I followed Serafina's reasoning completely, because in her mind trusting is second nature.

I was so wrapped up in Angel Dust I really struggled to put it down. Serafina's growth, her struggle with the idea of free will vs fate and the wrongs she does make Angel Dust a unique reading experience in this genre.
