Book Description

Angel Cake by Cathy Cassidy is truly sweet and delicious story for girls aged 9+

Anya used to dream of moving to Britain to start a brand-new life. But as she sits in a school where nobody understands her, she dreams of Polish summer skies and the place where she once belonged.

Then Anya meets bad boy Dan. He's no angel, but she's sure there's a sweeter side to him. And when things begin to fall apart, Anya realizes she's not alone - how can Dan be such bad news when being with him feels like heaven?

'Touching, tender and unforgettable' - Guardian

'Cassidy's characters have real heart' - Sunday Telegraph

'Cathy Cassidy . . . is way better than Jacqueline Wilson' - Courtney, aged 10

***Includes delicious recipes, character quizzes and more!***

Praise for Cathy's books: Touching, tender and unforgettable (The Guardian )

Cathy Cassidy's insight into teenage thinking is pin-point sharp while her light tone makes [her stories]

sing.

Angel Cake is awesome! It took three days to read and I loved it so much. I wish it could be made into a movie. (Britt, Age 13 )

5.0 out of 5 stars Angel Cake 14 Aug 2009
By BJW
Format:Hardcover
Angel cake by cathy cassidy is a book about a polish girl, moving to england with little english. She goes though several problams, with people ignoring her, little money, stolen boots and a boy who sets things on fire. Will everything go her way in the end??? Great for 9 to 15 year olds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Angel Cake is Pure Heaven 30 Jun 2009
Format:Hardcover
My daughter loves Cathy Cassidy books and her favourite was always Ginger Snaps, until she read Angel Cake, this is what she had to say...

Fantastic book - one of her best, now my equal fave with Ginger Snaps. The story was very unpredictable and if you did guess what was going to happen there was always a twist to throw you off. I read it in 2 days and loved every bit. I liked it because it was set in Liverpool, my former hometown and, as I've been living in Scotland for 3 years, it reminded me of 'home'. I loved the shop and the wonderful descriptions of cake - so good you could actually taste them. There are lots of clever messages in the book, like 'don't judge a book by its cover' and 'something sweet isn't always the key to happiness'. I'm sure Angel Cake will be a best seller.
