Captain Dylan Hunt and his crew return to our screens in the second season of Gene Roddenberry s brilliant sci-fi adventure series, Andromeda.

In a dramatic start to the season, some the crew are abducted and Dylan and Rommie must find a way to rescue them, battling the deadliest of enemies along the way but as Andromeda is critically damaged, it s not clear whether their mission will succeed. With a spate of intense attacks and pursuits along the way, the fast moving adventure series will keep you glued to your seat right up to the final cliffhanger episode that ll leave you desperate for more.

This brand new 6 disc set contains all 22 episodes in Season Two, plus some great Special Features.

4.0 out of 5 stars Season 2 Bluray Improves On Season 1 26 Aug 2014
Format:Blu-ray
The Andromeda Season 2 Blu-ray sees an improvement on the issues I raised in season 1. The picture print is pristine in appearance and the textures less waxy than those that plagued the first season. This still is just an upscaled DVD but it does look a good one compared season 1.
The bitrate hangs around the mid teens and hits over the 20 mark on occasion. The set has LPCM audio but there are no subtitles English or otherwise.
The question is if it's worth the upgrade.
Since the DVDs were quite good, then I'd stick with them for now.
The studio has said they intend further Andromeda Blu-ray releases but on an extended time scale. Season 3 may come in 2015.
If the set is going very cheap, however, then I'd say it's worth owning the set for the better picture and sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roddenberry's Rule 16 Nov 2009
By Lurch
Format:DVD
I watched the series on TV and wanted the collection on DVD and now I have them all and have watched them over and over, I love the series esp. Steve Bacic....Kevin is still Hercules though but he managed to pull off Dylan Hunt with ease and I love him for it....

Highly recommended watching if you love Sci-Fi and Gene & Majel Roddenberry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slight improvement 17 Oct 2014

Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
Takes up less room on the shelf, but it really only an upscale of the original release. Text looks fuzzy, and occasional interlacing issues but overall quality is nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Andromeda - Season 2 [DVD] Review 6 Aug 2009
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Wow this may very well be my favort of all the seasons. I rate this five star.

Intro to the 2nd season-

Well in this season we watch how it concludes from the first season, Will they or won't they survive this nightmare of the obis,

We get to look into more depth of the characters as we watch them finally starting to work together to avert disaster.

There is even more Action, Humour, Hot romance, and lots of Adv.super Weapons unleashed in this season. With our hero still trying to show the power of team work and faith in people's ability to realize there's a better way of life then greed and the need for power.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great followup 18 Feb 2007
Format:DVD
When writing a review of an entire series, you have to be careful not to spoil episodes yet inform readers. I hope that I've struck the right balance:

The series starts with the second part to Season 1's cliff-hanger. Even after that has story has been dealt with, it casts it's shadow in subsequent episodes.

The team continue to battle to sign up more members to the Commonwealth. We start seeing the team come together as a team. There is character development for all the main characters, we get to see more of the crew's backstories and at least one of the main cast changes direction.

We get to learn more about Nietzschean society and AI society.

There's at least one episode that has time travel (of a sort) and the God of the Magog interacts with the crew again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great series, but disappointing picture quality 14 Sep 2014
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
Andromeda is one of the best sci-fi series ever made, and I was so happy it finally came out on BluRay. The picture quality however is very disappointing, hardly any difference from the DVDs I already owned. I'm glad I did't buy this when it still cost £40. It's certainly worth no more than the £10 I payed for it now.
