I did a lot of research before settling on what I considered to be a bit of a gamble. I am the owner of an i-pod touch and as it was getting tired and temperamental I decided it was time for a change. Funds being what they are I looked at this unit.
To be honest I didn't expect much, this Tabtech M7 (also Haipad and Jexaa amongst other names) comes loaded with the 2.2 Android and has the Flash enabled. It also as stated has full access to the google marketplace but will come back to this later.

The Good - it also comes pre loaded with all the basic apps you need and some you won't though I recommend scrapping the stock browser and loading Dolphin HD to make use of the bigger screen. It does a reasonable job of playing BBC's I-player, the result is smooth with a little stuttering here and there. I have so far tried a few films in AVI and MP4 format, the largest at 1024x600 and it works fine, better even and with the HDMI outputting in 720 or 1080p (obviously an upscale) it looks nice on the TV though my first attempts were thwarted by the TV itself. Turning off the auto detect on the TV made the unit work fine. Games work well and Angry birds looks great on the larger screen, then there's that all important touchscreen. It's capacitive and that is a huge plus. Very responsive, sometimes too much so and could do with a sensitivity setting but really it's very good. Using the dolphin browser with the gestures enabled makes surfing a breeze and fun too. I have had no trouble setting up wifi and even though my router is upstairs I can still comfortably use it downstairs. The gallery feature for pictures is a dream and syncs all the pics on your SD card then using your Gmail account goes off and finds you picassa snaps too if uploaded to the 'cloud'. If only all the apps were as simple, which brings me to the bad (but not too bad).

The Bad - Android 2.2 is essentially a phone operating system and this gives a few problems such as downloading some apps. They ask for a phone number to send the download to which obviously, unless you have a 3G dongle plugged in, you don't have. A minor irritation, also as mentioned before some of the apps, (the stock browser, movie player and music player) are just so bad. They do the job but finding your SD card is a pain and each has a different way of accessing it. If you have no clue about file structure then maybe steer clear (possibly should stay away from all computers too). Music player finds all your alarms and system sounds too and lists them along side your music. These though can be solved by finding better alternatives from the market.
Battery life is around 4hrs playback - not too bad and on standby a lot longer - around a day. The tablet itself weighs quite a lot, not one for book readers though of course kindle and audible both work fine. The screen has a brightness function which even when turned right down is still quite bright and the volume control is split into three, system, media and alarm which makes turning it down a mite tricky. No skype yet but I heard that fring suffices.

Summary - Overall though these minor foibles can be forgiven, I mean I got this for £160 so am not expecting an I-pad hence I have made no attempts to compare the two. But maybe if you were comparing it to an i-pod touch it still comes in £40 cheaper and has a better sized display plus has some cool features the pod can only dream of. Coupled to that there is some level of support from the forums once you have worked out which tablet you have which bodes well for the future.

A final word should be given regarding the good service I received form Wendy Lou. I ordered the tablet on Saturday and it arrived on the Tuesday. I also thought I had a problem with the HDMI (which turned out to be my TV) but Wendy immediately offered to get the unit returned - as it turned out I didn't need to but it is reassuring to know she is a decent seller.

If you want a cheap tablet for browsing the web and playing a few games and don't mind missing out on some of the premium titles (gameloft) due to the phone issues or want more and are prepared to tinker and put the time in this tablet is great and really at the price is superb value for money. Enough of me now.

Excellent tablet pc 9 April 2011
In the market the same tablet pc has many names like Herotab C8, Dropad A7, Haipad M7. All these tablets have the same
specification. So i researched a lot and I knew what I was going to buy. I know its very hard to beat the features of this tablet at this price. This is my second tablet pc after eken m001, and after using a couple of weeks, here is my review for this new little cheap but very fast tablet pc.

Positives :-
1. Capacitive Touch screen - My first tablet was resistive and i can understand the pain of using it, I had a capacitive touchscreen mobile and these are very good over resistive. Hence i decided to go for this tablet which has capacitive touch screen. Typing on this tablet is very very good. I intensely tried to type fast to see the number of errors i can make but there were hardly any. Kudos to capacitive touch screen.
2. Processor speed - This tablet is very fast having 1 Ghz processor (claimed to have same processor of Samsung galaxy tab).
3. RAM - 512 mb.
4. Price - the spec i am getting for a price just over 150 quids is great. I researched a lot for this tablet pc before buying.
5. I am using this tablet pc also as an ebook reader and its so good to use with pinching in/out the screen.

Now coming to the negative side :-
1. A bit heavy but still robust, wont mind if saving few quids.
2. Sometimes wifi receptions are weak when accessing from a bit far from router.
3. Havent managed to make video calls yet but i am sure sooner or later there will be a solution to this as this is a s/w issue rather than a hardware.

Finally - few kind words for thia seller, initially had problem with the delivery which was not seller's fault but after contacting the seller the delivery problem was solved within 1~2 days. The seller Wendy is very helpful and provide full support and prompt reponse. Definitely recommned and would buy again.

Cannot be beat 13 Sep 2011
My wife has an iPad and I wanted an Android Tablet which could compete with the iPad. I also begrudged paying for a branded tablet when they charge a premium for what is essentially a free OS.
I did a lot of research before choosing this tablet.
Capacitive screen? Check.
Full Android Market? Check.
Flash 10.3? Check.
BBC iPlayer? Check.

After doing Quadrant Standard test on this tablet, it scored better than the Galaxy Series, and even the Nexus.
If you are after a cheap alternative to an iPad then look no further.

No USB driver
Generally its all good, but I have found that there is no USB driver for this tablet which means it is not really suitable for developing apps.
