Andrew Wileman was a senior partner with OC&C Strategy Consultants, from OC&C's start-up in London in 1987. He started up and grew OC&C's very successful retail practice, and helped build other service sector practices. He had previously worked with Booz Allen & Hamilton and BCG, in the USA and Europe. He has an MBA from Harvard.
Since the mid 1990s Andrew has worked independently, as a consultant, interim manager and business writer. He is currently retained as strategy adviser by a large European building materials business, by one of Europe's top travel and technology companies, and by an offshore software development business based in Bangalore. His other recent consulting work has included multi-year performance programs for businesses bought by private equity.
His timely recent book, Driving Down Cost (Brealey 2008), received plaudits from the FT, The Economist, and The Conference Board (USA) among others, and has been translated into 15 languages. He also wrote Retail Power Plays (Macmillan), and he writes regularly for Management Today.
