Andrew Norriss was teaching A level history when a visit to a hypnotherapist resulted in him not only giving up smoking but also becoming a full time writer.
He adapted his best loved story Aquila for television, a series which, along with Bernard's Watch, Matt's Million and Woof! is remembered with great affection.
His book Ctrl-Z was inspired by his son Johnny who, when he dripped baked beans on the table at supper one day, said, 'Ooops Ctrl-Z'.
Andrew loves visiting schools and libraries reminding children that reading is fun and that there is nothing better than a good story. He regularly gives talks to students at the University of Winchester, where he met his wife Jane many years ago. He lives in a village in Hampshire.
His other television credits include The Brittas Empire, and Chance in a Million starring Simon Callow and Brenda Blethyn.
