Five musicals in one set who could want more, Five Lloyd Webber Musicals in one set. The Really Useful Group brings you some of the best stage musicals ever written in a format thats brings the magic of the theatre to your front room.
"Cats" now sadly off the stage but with this dvd you have it forever. Elaine Paige returns to the role she made famous, Grizabella, and sings Memory as romantically as she did on the first night. There are also many other guests who have joined the regular cast to make this a very special version of one of the best family musicals ever to grace the west end.
"Joseph" The musical that started Lloyd Webber off. Marvel at the sheer theatrical brilliance of this production. With as much colour as you would find in a paint shop and a truly entertaining performance by Donny Osmond in the lead role. The sound quality of the dvd again brings the theatre into the front room.
Jesus Christ Superstar & Evita Both are filmed brilliantly. Strong casts make it a pleasure to watch again & again. See Madonna at her best with strong support from Antonio Banderas journey through the life of Argentina most famous woman ever.
By Jeeves A less known of the Webbers but as entertaining as any of the others.
All in all five great shows recorded to a high standard and with the quality of dvd brings to you the magic of any stage show.

This box set is fantastic for the world's biggest ALW fan, but perhaps not ideal for someone looking to just pick up their favourite. It includes 3 classics (Joseph, JCS and Cats) which are excellent. 'Joseph' is the (in)famous film version with Donny Osmond in the title role, and it is well produced - perfect family musical. The version of JCS featured here is the most recent film version, which has a french revolution-y feel to it: a very well put-together movie, though I feel the more modern approach actually dates the music somewhat. Cats is a classic - enough said.
I think a point to make would be that I still have not watched the other two! I suppose in any box set like this, you are bound to get something you don't want, but nonetheless, this is a great collection to have in the cabinet for any lover of Lloyd-Webber's work.
