I first saw this type of oven being demonstrated on one of the television commercial stations and was sold on the concept. Spent some effort searching the web and found this small one which I thought would be just right, the Andrew James 7 litre. It was a reasonable price with all the extra's, perfect for two people. I had worried that it might be too small but was surprised at how big it actually turned out to be. I had read all the recommendations with the usual large dose of scepticism, all saying how wonderful the oven was and that their usual oven no longer had a use. Well this all proved to be absolutely genuine since my wife no longer uses hers. Andrew James, the seller was very good as well, the oven arriving promptly as promised.

Well, I think the Oven is wonderful. I have cooked Chicken in it, the joints you get in the tin foil, this was a breast joint with stuffing. I cooked it as per the Instructions on the Sleeve from Asda, time and temperature. The chicken was moist and succulent. I turned it over half way through the cooking time, to get the underside browned off, but I would have done this anyway in my conventional oven. I supposed with hindsight, you could turn the timing down by 5-10 mins, but I let the timer finish, as it says in the Instructions if you turn the timer back you risk damaging, so I did not.
Drunk with success, I then cooked an Aunt Bessie Toad in the Hole...this was great too, and I could watch the Yorkshire rise.
The thing I most like about the oven is the fact that you don't have to put the item in another dish, you can cook in the tinfoil tray.
I suppose the only downside to the cooker, is that I could not see where the timer was,(ie how much time left) but I rectified this by putting a red line on the timer knob, and on the thermostat knob.
I would have no hesitation is recommending the Halogen Oven, especially, if you are on your own, and don't want to put the Conventional Oven on. Plus there is no warming up of the oven.
Hope I haven't gone on too long and folks understand what I was saying.
