First problem was that the door was not located properly. I had to fiddle the hinge pin with long-nosed pliers to fix it.
Then I noticed the timer wouldn't count down past about 10 minutes, so in effect it will never switch off, which actually suits me fine.
The tray and the rack can be lifted out with a wire handle, which is OK, but could be better.
The rack struggles with the weight of a casserole, so I often put it on top of the tray. I also do this when grilling, so it can catch the drips. But there's no way of properly locating it inside the tray, so it can wander about when I'm turning the food.
It's a fraction too small to allow a full-size Pyrex dinner plate to go inside and let the door shut.
The grill is either on or off. There's no way to turn it down a bit.
Power conmsumption is reasonable. It seems to be about 650W for the oven (lower element) and the same again for the grill (upper element). But I don't think it's very well insulated, which won't be an issue in the winter, but in the summer it will lose a lot of heat into the kitchen, unproductively.
I intend to buy another similar item at some time over the next few months. I'll use this experience as an education. And I'll keep this one as a stand-in.
In summary, it works well enough, but it could have been so much better with a little thought.
