Product Description

Andrew James Quarter Pounder Hamburger Maker With Wooden Handle - Includes 2 Year Warranty + 100 Waxed Discs

The Andrew James quarter pounder burger press is a quick and easy way to make the perfect burgers. The press is simple to use, with griddled surfaces to give the chunky burgers a delicious chargrilled effect. Made of die-cast aluminium with a sturdy wooden handle, this product is hard wearing and also has an appealing rustic feel.

Included with the press are 100 non-stick waxed paper discs which are used in the press so burgers can be easily removed, and they can also be used when storing burgers, preventing them from sticking together and helping retain moisture and flavour. More wax discs are available to purchase separately from Andrew James.

Making your own burgers means you always know exactly what kind of ingredients have gone into them, so you can ensure you're feeding your family the right things. You can create your own delicious flavours by adding your favourite herbs and spices. Why not try beef and chilli, lamb and mint, or go veggie with mushroom and lentil burgers!

The Quarter Pounder Burger Maker is great for use at barbecues; uniformly shaped burgers will take the same amount of time to cook, and the ability to create your own flavours means you can cater to everyone's tastes. It's also a great way for the whole family to get hands-on with cooking - you will find that a burger you have made yourself from start to finish tastes so much better!

Being a lover of home made food and voracious meat eater, I am on a life long (two words that don't go with burger!) quest for the perfect burger.

Hopefully this little press will get my creative juices flowing. . . .

I can honestly say that I can't remember the last time I shop-bought a burger! I've been making them since my mum showed me a basic recipie as a kid. Hand made are okay, but this press just makes them that much better to handle, look at and of course eat!

Basically it's a burger mould and press. You get 100 wax discs with it. That's it. The mould and press have those bbq style lines already built in so your finished burger looks the buisness! Being die cast aluminium and having a nice solid wooden handle on the press it's a well built device.

In use it's spot on folks.

- You prepare your burger mix and once ready you get the required amount to fill the mould to just a tad under the brim.

- Put one wax disc in the bottom of the mould. Your burger will tip out easy then.

- Firm the burger mix into the mould and using the press handle press down firmly!

- Tip your juicy home made burger out of the mould and you're done!

Get it on your buns with whatever you fancy and tuck in! This press gives you a quarter pound burger which is approximately 2cm thick and the perfect size for your buns. If you were making a job lot to freeze, just keep a wax disc between each one so they're easy to separate and you don't have to smash the kitchen to bits like a crazed starving hulk to get one burger out!

It washes up easily with hot soapy water too. Jobs a goodun.

Don't try and press down using the handle as this causes uneven burgers, instead hold in both hands sandwiching between your fingers and thumbs either side of the handle, this gives a nice even pressure forming a nice flat burger.

I use the discs and still have not had one burger come out of the press on its own, needed to jammy them out with a knife every time.

Ok, received well in time of delivery date..great. Now the real test.....pressing what you bought it for!!
First lot done tonight with my special burger mix. You can either press with handle......uneven burger or after first two attempts I pressed the outer edges down and hey presto. Obviously the thickness of the burger depends on the amount of meat you put in. The max thickness you can get is approx 15mm. Once pressed creates another problem...you can't get the damn thing out without a flat bladed utensil which causes the burger edge to break down. I tried two things here. 1. rubbed butter on both faces of press with reasonable degree of success. 2. Used one of the wax discs placed under the meat to be pressed and then pressed down. This works very well and should be tried - draw back is you will have to change the wax disc every other, third press because it starts to breakdown. Overall rating a 3 but is better than the plastic press I have which traps the meat and can be a pain to wash because you have to dis-assemble to clean. The important thing is that the burgers press very well.

A very simple sturdy design that works very nicely. Used it to make all kinds or burgers and it has proven to be very useful.

Tip: If you want to make sure your burgers don't fall apart when cooking make sure you put them in the fridge to chill for 30 mins before cooking and make sure your pan is very very very hot!

Brilliant product.
I make Gino De Campo beefburgers with this and will never have a commercially made burger again.
This product is well made, super easy to use and built to last.
The wax discs are a must have.
I recommend this product.

Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and it's perfect. It's quite solid and not cheap looking.
It comes with a lot of extra sheets for your many burgers!

This works well like all simple gadgets. Just put a paper disc in the bottom first then the meat won't stick - simple!
