Ordered Sunday 22 January 2012 and was not expecting delivery until at least Friday 27 January. I was surprised when my new toy turned up Tuesday 24 January so delivery was extremely fast. So fast I had not removed my chip fryer yet which I planned on emptying and cleaning for storage.
Anyway, the chip fryer has temporary accommodation until tomorrow when it will be emptied, cleaned and put away, I'm going to concentrate on my Halogen Oven now and so far I am impressed. The microwave, oven and chip fryer have all been made redundant.
It don't take much to impress me, all I did was four battered cod and two Kiev's a little while later all from frozen and the fact I had barely blinked and everything was cooked within fifteen minutes WITHOUT preheating pretty much knocked me for six.
The cooking instructions for battered cod, preheat oven to 220C then cook for 30 minutes. Taking preheating the oven into account the total cooking time for four battered cod could take 40 minutes in total from frozen. In the halogen oven 15 minutes in total PLUS they are nice and crispy on the outside.
As for the spare bulb? this is another reason why I chose this oven, you can change the bulb if it blows, plus you get a spare bulb worth £9.95 FREE.
I've checked, if the bulb does happen to blow believe me changing it is extremely easy, just remove the fan cover, then a small panel. Unplug the blown bulb and plug the new one in, replace the small panel and then the fan cover and off you go.

It was only after a friend sang the praises of Halogen Ovens that I decided to read the reviews which convinced me I was missing out on something and so I ordered one. One of the first meals I cooked was a whole chicken with roast potatoes, which after one hour turned out to perfection. I also obtained good results with a Beef Stroganoff which I cooked directly in the oven bowl as directed in the recipe.
The self cleaning function was very useful afterwards! We previously cooked with the normal electric oven almost daily and I expect we shall see a reduction in our electricity consumption now. I can thoroughly recommend this product.

When I first switched on the oven, the cooker went off after 5 minutes and threw our mains trip switch. I rang Andrew James who suggested it could be the bulb and asked me to put the spare one in. It then worked. Andrew James were extremely helpful, easy to contact and sent out another bulb straight away which came quickly. I was very impressed with the way they dealt with this matter.
Now to a report on the oven. The product is very sturdy and well made. I am very, very pleased with it. It shortens cooking time and is very easy to clean. I tried it out first with a leg of lamb, potatoes and parsnips which were roasted to perfection. Yesterday I cooked part-baked multigrain rolls and rashers of bacon. I took the rolls out as soon as they were cooked and then finished cooking the bacon to perfection. A delicious lunch.
I thoroughly recommend this product and know I will get a lot of use from it.

I bought this oven after my mum bought one a year ago. I was skeptical, but wanted to reduce my gas bill due to our old gas oven being very inefficient.
I looked on line and saw this one came with all the accessories and spare bulb and decided to take the plunge.
It is the best investment I have ever made and would recommend everyone to get one. Conventional ovens are far too big, unless you have a very large family. A lot of heat goes to waste when heating in a conventional oven. As we all know fossil fuels are not finite and will one day run out, so we all need to be as efficient as we can with our energy.
My husband and I use this oven daily. I have cooked a joint of beef, Yorkshire Puds, chicken, lasagna .. Everything. It heats up very quick, so no time waiting for it to reach temperature.
The 2 wire racks are very usefull, so you can cook more in your oven. We cook our bacon on the top rack with round black baking tray. Comes out perfectly cooked. I cook the tomatoes for the bacon butty on the lower rack on the silver tray. Yum
The lid holder is a great assesory and is very much needed. After cooking the lid is very hot and needs to be put on the lid holder or it could burn your work surface.
There are 2 dials. One a timer and one to set the temperature. All very easy to use.
The government have grants to help insulate your home to reduce energy consumption, how about they have grants for smaller halogen ovens in the home. It will save a considerable amount of energy in the uk.
Please buy this oven and help save energy.

This is the second halogen oven I have owned. After nearly 3 years of use the bulb went and could not be replaced. As the Andrew James oven came with a spare bulb this was the deciding factor in purchasing. I am satisfied with my purchase except for a recurring problem with the timer,which keeps malfunctioning. At present it seems to have corrected itself, but may have to be replaced if the problem reappears.
