Great Service, Great Buy., 7 Mar 2010
This review is from: Andrew James 12 LTR Premium Halogen Oven Cooker + FREE Easily Replaceable Spare Bulb + 2 YEAR WARRANTY + FREE 128 page Recipe Book - Complete with Extender Ring (Up to 17 Litres) Lid Holder, Baking Tray, Steamer Tray, Skewers, Low and High Racks
Ordered Wednesday, arrived Friday, MOST impressed! Had ordered another model from a different source which didn't arrive in working order, was refunded, so we looked around for an alternative. The reason for the previous order was that model had a hinged lid which dealt with the problem of where to put it when it was hot, however the hinged lid made it too tall to fit under the wall cabinets in our kitchen, being forced to look for another model made us take this into consideration. This model having a lid stand seemed to fit the bill, and it has more than exceeded our expectations. It works well in the space, visibility is great and for the two of us it is much more practical to use this oven than to fire up the main oven as it takes care of all our grilling and roasting, casseroling etc etc needs. The only downside is that the recipe book included, as other reviewers have pointed out, is to be read for amusement value only! This however, is easily taken care of by downloading material from the internet and investing in something like "Halogen Cooking Made Simple" by Paul Brodel. Great product.

Halogen Oven - Better than expected!, 18 Jan 2010
This review is from: Andrew James 12 LTR Premium Halogen Oven Cooker + FREE Easily Replaceable Spare Bulb + 2 YEAR WARRANTY + FREE 128 page Recipe Book - Complete with Extender Ring (Up to 17 Litres) Lid Holder, Baking Tray, Steamer Tray, Skewers, Low and High Racks
I love infomercials (my wife hates them!) I saw this halogen oven and instantly thought "Yes! I want one". So I reviewed the product and customer reviews and finally decided to purchase one. The final result: GREAT! This little oven cooks fast! I took it to work and made steak and potatoes for all my co-workers in less than 40 min. It's easily portable, and cleaning (so far) seems simple. I would recommend the accessory kit with the extension ring if you buy this product, otherwise trying to cook a full chicken and roast potatoes would be difficult. Now, there has to be some cons right? Well, the only one I found so far is the instruction manual. It's rubbish! I downloaded a cookbook off the internet and it's helped a lot. The reason I say that is the original instruction manual doesn't even have a set guide for how long to cook items and at what temp. I'm not a huge fan of trial and error, so I recommend buying a separate cookbook. I hope this helps. It's a great product for home or for work.

Very versatile cooker, better than Remoska, 10 Mar 2010

Previous to this purchase I had bought a JML halogen oven and found it extremely useful, hardly ever needing to use my conventional oven, but the JML broke (the halogen light in the top is very vulnerable to splashes, which renders the whole thing useless, and it is not repairable). I set out to replace it immediately, and opted for a Grand Remoska (exclusive to Lakeland) - as I had heard people giving them high praise, but boy was I disappointed. The Remoska seems to me to be not very good value at all, costing nearly a hundred pounds, and I was very disappointed with what you get for the money - no grill racks included, a meagre so-called cook book, one very restrictive non-variable heat setting, takes ages to reach heat. After a couple of months - where the Remoska mainly languished in the cupboard, I decided to go for another halogen cooker, and plumped for the Andrew James one. Having now used it a couple of times I am delighted. It seems to be better quality and more efficient than the JML, the halogen light is better protected from splashes, and really it does cook quickly. The only slight letdown was the lack of instructions - mainly with regard to the steamer plate, which they leave to you to work out, which I haven't as yet. The lid stand is a big bonus, which the JML lacked. In conclusion, I would recommend this oven as a better alternative to both the Remoska and the JML.
