Since this is my first hand mixer I don't really have a lot of experience to compare it with others but what I did notice was after the second time I used it, one of the beaters got stuck inside. I later realised that this is not a problem as you only have to slightly turn it clockwise or anti-clockwise to get it out. No pulling!! It may damage the hand mixer.
Overall, I think I'm very satisfied with this product!

I love my new mixer! It's so easy to use and definately has made a noticiable difference to my baking - cakes and Yorkshire pudds are so much lighter. It is very powerful, looks good and is easy to clean.

The only thing I would point out is that the two beaters need to go in the correct holes, even though there is no reference to this in the instructions. If you look carefully you will see the shafts of the two beaters are slightly different. Look at the picture on the leaflet to check which beater goes in which hole. If you get them the wrong way round one of them is very difficult to remove.

I am so pleased that I bought this mixer rather than the much more expensive 5 speed Kenwood that my heart was telling me to buy.
As a former Food Tech teacher I had always bought Kenwood for myself and for school as I know the products are so durable and reliable. However I decided to try the Andrew James mixer after reading reviews.
Firstly, there is no problem at all concerning the beaters and which hole they should fit. Page 2 of the instruction booklet clearly states which beater fits into which hole (there are only 2 holes!). The beaters are easy to eject and can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. I am also pleased that the blade part of the beaters are longer than those of most other manufacturers, just over 3", which allows for a more even mix of larger quantities of cake mixture without the mixture climbing up the beater arms. I made a fruit cake using 1lb 2oz of each of the following ingredients, butter, sugar, eggs, flour, without any problems where my old mixer would have really struggled.
I haven't used the dough hooks or balloon whisk yet and to be honest I probably wont use the dough hooks as I prefer to knead dough by hand-it is very therapeutic!
The mixer itself weighs roughly 2lb 2oz, about the same as a bag of sugar, so I didn't find it uncomfortable, but those with weaker wrists may find it slightly heavy. It stands easily on its base and it is very easy to wipe over after use and the wire wraps round the base neatly for storage.
The 5 speeds are well balanced and go through the gears smoothly. As a left hander I would have prefered the speed slider to go from bottom top vertically as I find it a little difficult to move the thumb of my left hand from left to right. However, it is easier for lefthanders to reduce the speed.

I chose this mixer as it seemed uncomplicated and I have been more than satisfied. MAKE SURE YOU INSERT THE BLADES INTO THE RIGHT HOLES. This was pointed out in a few of the reviews I read, so I have made certain this is what I have done. The mixer is great, various speed setting, light and easy to use. Great value for money product.

Looks good works well and a great accessory, a nicely made kitchen utensil, robust enough for the average household. I would recommend this wisk.

This is a very robust, good looking yet fairly lightweight machine.
It has a good selection of speeds.
Excellent value for money.

The only thing I would say is, in my opinion the instructions should make it clear, in writing, which whisk goes into which hole. Luckily I had read the reviews first so knew to look out for it, but if I hadn't there are NO written instructions at all with regard to this. Therefore some of the reviews are not 5 star as they should be, as people are assuming there is a "problem" with the whisks/machine, when actually theres no fault/problem other than the instructions - or rather lack of instructions!

I've used this whisk non-stop to make a variety of different cakes and it's been great. The speed settings allow you to incorporate new ingredients and whilst it has 5 settings, I haven't had to go past 3. I wasn't sure which whisk to purchase, but I'm really pleased I bought this one as I know I don't have to buy a separate Kitchen Aid now.

used it 4 times and it is good item, really like it, the reason for 4 stars is that after 3rd use could not remove one of the beaters, but still working very good
