It was smaller and lighter that expected about the same size as a blender when mounted on the stand which is a good thing for me as it takes up little space. Included is scoup that fits at the top of the plastic hood, which measures just the right amount.
Using the corn provided, which looks like regular popcorn, I found it makes good, fresh, fully poped, popcorn , about a Regular size portion at a go in about 3mins or less. No oil needed instead its swirling hot air.
I live on my own so that portion size is suitable for me. I have not yet tried it when friends come round.
But it takes less than 30secs to cool down till its ready to go again.
Almost all of the popcorn popped and those that did not i reused and it came out fine.
I measured, poured in the popcorn and fitted the hood before i switched on the machine.
I read the other reviews before purchasing so i knew there was an issue with the popped popcorn flying out.
To overcome this i used a large sheet of foil to creat a larger "hood" at the front, bridging the gap from machine to bowl. I used the scoop at the top to anchor the foil, press down a bit to ensure the foil is secure.
Also I was sure to keep the foil loose around the machine to avoid over heating. It worked a treat 99% stayed in the bowl as opposed to the 60-70% otherwise. (this is why i gave it 4stars)
The machine does get noisy and hot but that is what i expected. The on off switch is at the bottom back and as far as i have found you have to turn it off youself, there is not automatic switch off when its finish poping. So i just switch it off when there is no more poping going on - whcih as i mentioned above is around 3 mins or less.
No real cleaning i just tip it over the sink when cool to get rid of any loose kernels peices.
Hope this helps.
