quite a help, i would have liked more basic things to start with , i have had a few disasters with timing, perhaps someone could produce " an idiots guide to halogen cooking.

I bought this after reading reviews about halogen ovens in newspaper articles and I have been so happy with this product. It was a bit of hit and miss at first, as many other users report, but all in all it has been so good for me. I know it uses much less electricity, so saving money, but that was not the reason I bought it. I live alone apart from when my children visit me each month, I am also disabled and had problems using my eye level cooker. Now this is not only good for me, its quick, its easy to use and clean and I also use when I have all my family visit, seven of us. It's great for doing a brunch on a Sunday morning, as it cooks everything so quickly. Fully recomment this product and it was excellent value.
This is really the dogs nuts. Cooks quickly and any meat remains moist and tender. The included recipe book book is not a lot of use - IMHO - but there are plentiful of halogen coking pages on the web anyway. Be warned though, it is a big beasty in the 20l size; my only doubt was that the smaller version might have been too small
