I use this headset mainly for voice recognition with Dragon Naturally Speaking. The accuracy is fairly good and if a text is only spoken, it works really well. That would be 5 stars. The problem with this headset is, that it records ambient noises like typing noise and breathing noise (unfortunately) very well. That causes Dragon Naturally Speaking (version 11) to take this noises as input. If I am speaking text as well as typing certain words in between (because I use words that DNS does not know - I am a programmer) and if I breath normally, DNS is constantly working when I am typing or breahing and often regognizes words like "in" from the typing or my breathing. Even if DNS does not recognize word, the cursor is often set back to the mouse position. That makes working with this headset nearly impossible for me if I have to type while writing or if I breath to loud for the mic. That is two stars less.

What's strange is, that the ambient noise filters coming with the Andrea Audio Commander obviously do not work very well. The Andrea support confirmed that the filters do not go well with DNS and I should turn them off. Wat's the point in having filters I cannot use?

Rather than the Gaming and/or Skype that the product title might suggest, I purchased the headset to use with Dragon Naturally Speaking. I had been using the headset supplied by Nuance but it was never a particularly good and recently finally gave up the ghost.

In buying the Andrea Headset, I was hoping for a significant improvement in the accuracy of the dictation and it has achieved more than I expected. Although it produces much better accuracy in a quiet environment, it is in the normally noisy environment that it excels. The percentage accuracy has gone from perhaps low 70s to high 90s. Quite often I find that the only accuracy has in fact been caused by my poor diction. One minor point - somewhat tongue in cheek - remember to turn off the microphone! It is not unknown to turn back to your screen and find that your last conversation has been quite well transcribed even though you have taken off the headset!

I had not realised quite how uncomfortable the previous headset was until I tried this one, which is just so much better.

All in all, a very good product for how I was intending to use it.

I brought this headset after reading lots of positive reviews for using it with Dragon Naturally Speaking. Unfortunately, I haven't found it as good as I hoped it would be. Firstly, due to my own error, I didn't notice it only has one ear piece - on the other side, is a small bit that holds the headset in place. Personally, I would have preferred double earphones. My mistake anyway. What I did notice is feedback from the microphone and voice recognition was not as clear as I hoped. I think any breathing and light background noise feeds in, even though I was the only one around, with music etc etc etc on. On the plus side, this head set DOES allow you to control volume and choose which side you want the earset. I think it would be perfect for applications like skype, maybe gaming (I have no experience there) but I didn't feel it had the precision required for Dragon.

These are the ONLY headsets I will use now. I've tried lots of different makes over the years but always come back to these. I almost entirely use them for inputting text via the Dragon Naturally Speaking software and find them clear and accurate.
You do have to ensure they are at the correct distance from your mouth and that you are talking - not shouting or whispering - into them in a clear and concise tone but, if you do all that then they are almost 100% accurate. Oh and they are pretty comfortable to wear also.

Sorry I can't fault them!

I use this at work with Dragon software, its a comfortable headset. Easy to install, great sound quality (I use it as the telephone headset too)
I prefer the one ear piece type headset and this was the only one I could find. Replaced like for like but was not impressed in the double cost when I bought my first one a couple of years ago.

I bought this microphone after reading an online review [...] The quality of sound it produces is fab, so clear and much better than other USB microphones that I have used in the past. I can't recommend it enough for use with Dragon Naturallyspeaking.

I find it useful and it's comfortable to wear.
It's large, but the quality of the recording...which is what it's use for is very good.

Generally an all-round good experience. The headset worked well for both of my requirements - Dragon voice-recogntion, and Skype. The voice-recognition performance was particularly encouraging when compared to my previous two headsets, one of them being a Plantronics DSP 400.

Positive features include the mute and volume control - the mute is especially useful with Dragon as the often the sleep/wake-up commands can be mis-recognised and/or take too much time when consolidated over a session much to the users annoyance.

Would recommend!
