My husband bought the 2001 Classical Brit Awards compilation CD of best selling classical favourites and Andre Rieu's lovely Carmen overture taken from this 'Celebration' CD was one item which I always specially enjoyed. (This CD is still available - the Ave Maria by Filipa Giordano sung in modern 'popstar' style is very unusual and gorgeous not to mention the delights of Yo Yo Ma with Eternal Vow and themes from Gladiator and Inspector Morse). I bought 'Celebration' as a gift but enjoyed it so much when played by the recipient I bought my own copy. A lovely mix of light classical and popular favourites. 'Celebration' is also issued as 'Fiesta'.
If you like this CD you might also like the sensational 3 CD compilation 'Andre Rieu Eine Musikalische Traumereise' (an absolute bargain) which I have also reviewed. The beautiful packaging would make it very suitable for Mother's Day. To be found on Amazon.

Format:Audio CD
I have seen the Andre Rieu orchestra at the Royal Albert hall and they are just superb! Andre Rieu made the whole audience feel like part of the concert; had us dancing, laughing and enjoying all of fun (and there was plenty of it) but the music was perfect. All familiar tunes played with energy and feeling from the hearts of every member of the orchestra. When I listen to this CD(my first copy is worn out!) I'm right back there and still joining in!

I had never heard of Andre Reiu before, and when I saw this album advertised, I did not know what to expect, but I purchased the album and I must say I do not regret it one bit. The album is fantastic from begining to end. All the well known tunes from around the world.
What a superb orchestra, I found the album a joy to listen to, and so uplifting. I would recommend this album to anyone who loves classical music, or anyone who wants to feel on top of the world, this album will certainly make you feel that.
A new Andre Reui fan is born !

Viennese Capers
