4.0 out of 5 stars Best Droid Code editor 24 April 2014

As an avid coder, I can say that this has been the best text editor on the Android scene pretty much since it was released. SL4A and external command support truly does make it akin to Geany and Notepad++, both of which I use on my computer. The paid version is worth the extra features.

Note to dev: all it needs is macro functionality like Notepad++ and android terminal emulator integration

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but limited 25 Jun 2014

This is a 3-star editor compared to the TextPad app I use with Windows. It does pick up DropBox files and does syntax highlighting, but your ability to spec highlighting is limited (e.g., text and constants are the same). Moreover, you don't have bold or italic, font size is universal, search is awkward and limited, and tabs are a single space whether or not turned on (at least on Kindle HDX). It is effective for viewing code, but for editing I would only use it in desperation when there is no other option. You get what you pay for, I guess, but this probably should be a $0.99 app rather than $1.99.

5.0 out of 5 stars On the go programming 29 April 2014

I am using this to do programming of websites on my Kindle. This is not a wysisyg... this is old fashion coding. It does offer you code hints, and the opportunity to review your work in a browser. I like this for quick fixes when traveling. I would not recommend this if you do not know how to code (html or others) because you will be lost with this ap. However this is the best coding ap for Android I have found and works great on my Kindle HD.

Looks like it might have more potential with some additional features.
The help file and some other menu items are found only by long press on main screen.
